If he can continue to channel his inner Ray Allen he is going to be such a bargain on that contract

PG-Booker-Bridges-Warren-Ayton should be the template, and then let's see if Okobo, Melton, Josh and Holmes can be anything moving forward

Most here know I love me some Warren--I've defended him through his low points the past couple of seasons, especially his 3PT shooting; so many here refused to believe that the .400 he shot his 2nd season in the league proved anything--it was an aberration...but it's clear that whatever was going on the past two season was the aberration, not his 2nd season. The boy can shoot. And oh, e already knew he could score. His last two remaining weaknesses are assists and D, but hey, Booker is practically an All-Star, and his D is just as bad, if not worse, so...

Point is, no, I'm not here to toot my own horn, because even I had started to waver in my faith by the middle of last season, because I felt JJ was out future, and Warren would be a great trade piece at his price-point...he still is, but now, there's no way in he!! I trade him. I don't care if he plays the majority of his minutes at the 3 or the 4...starting or off the bench...get him his minutes, and he'll be happy. You can't tell me that he wouldn't LOVE to be in the running for the the '6th Man of the Year'; that probably means more to him than being called a 'starter'--IDK...you tell me...

Bottom line is, Warren has turned out to be the 2nd best draft pick we've made in the past 20 years. Ayton doesn't count, because, 1) he's still a rookie and could flame out, and 2) he was a gimme at the #1 Overall.

I assume teams do not 'build' around a 6th man, but IMO, we have the pieces going forward to compete at a high level, if we play this smart this off-season, and don't be stupid by taking more 'half-measures' with 'pretty good players' like Ariza; the plan needs to be and 'All or Bust' scenario, IMO.

We build around Booker, Ayton, and yes, Warren as the 6th man, which leaves openings at the 1, 3, and 4. Okobo, Melton, Bridges and JJ should be given EVERY opportunity this season to determine whether either, or both, can fill a role on this team. If not, and we are drafting near the top again?? Take BPA that is NOT a SF, then put all our eggs in ONE basket for a stud in FA, or via trade with another team, using any asset we have NOT named Booker, Warren, or Ayton, AND/OR any of the rookies I listed above that show they will be an sset to this team moving forward. No more Ariza's, BK's, Dragic's, Anderson's, etc...only a CURRENT NBA All-Star or All-NBA player--just ONE. Let's do this right, instead of what we have been doing...

...and back to topic...Warren needs to be one of the 3 that stay, absolutely, no if's, and's, or but's!!

We need him on the court to try to win games. Now and in the future.

Each was #9. I'll always remember that as the Suns' lucky draft slot. Those were the best players in each class, IMO. The Matrix to this day is criminally underrated by the basketball community.

In his draft, over at the Raptors board, at the peak of Jabari Parker hype where Parker and Wiggins were going back and forth as possible #1 selections, I made the case for TJ Warren to the Raptors by directly comparing him to Parker and realizing I couldn’t totally tell why Parker was thought of so much more.

Glad he’s panned out. Looking through that draft thread again our board was also pretty spot on about Dimwiddie, Nurkic and Capella as well.

I also felt Wiggins was more of a rich man’s Rudy Gay than another generational superstar. That draft was hyped as the biggest and best since the Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Melo (and Darko!) draft which seems funny now. Warren has looked great.

Regarding TJ Warren... it is a shame what the NBA is doing to the game. A SHAME.

The league is allowing this season (more than ever) flopping to get a call and if you play straight and pure basketball you are damned.

It is ridiculous...if you have played in your life some kind of basketball you know that the NBA now it is all about fake toughness.

If you play the right way and you do not have interest in flopping you are gonna have serious difficulties to be effective in the league. They want actors, not gamers.

The league rewards players like JJ Barea, Marcus Smart, Blake Griffin...players that love to initiate contact and then die in live action at the next touch by their opponents. It is laughable that they allow that **** all season long.

I understand pretty well Warren because he does not have that "flopper mentality" in him and he only knows to play the right way. He is not an actor and they want that ****.

And it has to be frustrating to see that the NBA want you to be a faker and flopper to get calls and be effective on defense when you love the real game.

Because it would just encourage TJ to get pissed more. These guys have to just take the fouls and not complain. Half the reason refs give guys fouls (and don't call fouls against them) is because they don't like the way the players treat them.

Seems like Igor did get one tech against him this season too.

I disagree with this to an extent, I think it might calm TJ down to know his coaching staff is going to get fired up on behalf of the team. At the very least it would make it so they're all in it together. Pringles would do that **** all the time.
