Do you know another player who had a lot of ankle issues in their early career? It even affected him from landing a bigger (second) contract.

Stephen Curry.

How did he turn out though?

Since last night, Jonathan Isaac is now wearing the same model of ankle braces that Steph Curry used to become healthy and highly productive.

If they get blown away with an offer, they should trade him.

If the offers are terrible, they should hang onto him for the season.

The Magic can shop around in free agency for other positions and circle back to Vucevic later potentially. Or they can shake his hand, thank him for his service and hand the spot over to Bamba.

I don't expect them to move him just to move him though.

And if he's going to average 18/11/3 on 54/43/75 splits with +8 net rating the rest of the season, then they should absolutely bring him back.
That's all Star numbers.

Ugh, first a thread on Isaac and now on Vucevic on the GB. I thought no one watched the magic lol.

actually i agree that we should trade him.
but if we somehow have a good season this is what you should expect: we're getting offers for vuc, but since this is our first good season in 7 years weltman's too chicken to trade him at the deadline. at the end of the season vuc's value is an all time high cause he won us something this time, so weltman's too chicken to afford him. he walks. it's always sunny in orlando.

Yeah it’d be the smart thing to do long term, but I don’t expect it to happen especially after nights like last night. But like Gordon’s start last year, I think some of these numbers will revert back to the mean.

He always had the skill set and the size to play like this. He just wasn't as aggressive and coaches did not use his skill properly.

Slowly, but surely the Magic have moved up into a tie for 25th in ORTG.

18th in DTRG.

dont think he is doing anything that he can't sustain right now, his 3 ball might drop few percentage points maybe, but not that much. he's not taking and making hard shots, his forte was always about positioning and awareness. at the end of the day, these nights only mean something if you're gonna keep him. I don't know, maybe front office really values inspiring of hope of relevancy that much, compared to a pick or two that they can get for him. and him walking away at the end doesn't detract from that goal?

that's the only explanation i can come up with what these guys are trying to do. and i have to say i'm at my wits end trying to understand the vision that ties their moves together.

Hmm, really? Nothing he is doing is really unexpected.. 16.5 ppg which is less than what he averaged last year, 8rpg which is what he averaged last year, shooting 47% from the field and 35% from 3 which is both higher than last year but you have to keep in mind that he was taking 6 3's a game last season compared to 4.4 this year which is what was driving his percentages down..I really just feel like this is Gordon's natural progression.

If anything I could see some of his numbers going up as he has averaged 19.8 ppg, 9 rpg, and 3.7 apg in his last 7 games where he has really started to buy in to what Cliff wants him to do.

Gordon last year: 38.4% of his shots from inside 10 feet

Gordon this year: 44.6% of his shots from inside 10 feet

I don't think we are trading Vuc now. Dude is balling and Bamba is just not ready. As dumb as it is we are gonna try to win now. All we can hope for is some lottery luck or we get a star late in the draft. I think Vuc will get resigned too

watching some stats, it's impressive how bad Simmons is.
Like the worst player in nba level bad.
Impressive.

I think the tag on him is pretty high to be traded now, as it should be.
But there should be a price out there to get him.

Yeah if he would just play within himself and be a team player he'd be much better. He tries too hard to be a main guy and force plays.
