Looking smooth. Off course his 5 misses from 3 aren't in movies like these. ;)
That last basket looks like the G league has no rules in place for traveling? :o

If KBD can go 3-8 from 3 with regularity he should be getting minutes with the NBA Wolves.

I think that’s mostly typical. NBA teams don’t keep top prospects in the G-league. And not for long if they do. It would be nice if we put more effort into finding hidden prospects though.

Why not? Can they be signed by other teams off the PS?
Are G-league games free? If so, where?
Bryson look good from the highlights. What good does it do us to have a team if we got no good prospects the develop?

I would consider top prospects lottery picks. In most cases they are getting playing time with the NBA team. The goal with these G-league teams, at least to this point, is to develop or find diamonds in the rough. Mostly 2nd round picks and UDFA.
It would probably make sense for us to give Beta-Diop a chance there.

Other teams can sign players from any G-League team unless they are on either a 2 way contract or regular contract. Most teams usually only have 2 guys at most that are on a contract and can't be signed away.

I watch them on Facebook live (?). I go to the G-League page and they usually show which games are on at the time or that day.

I believe most of the games are still streamed on Facebook. Some on Twitch.

Time to scout our gleague players?

Darius Johnson-Odom

Pros:
- athleticism. strong build, quick and powerful moves
- ability to finish with both hands
- willingness to slash to the rim, very aggressive as slasher
- seems to be able to absorb physical contact and finish
- quick release

Cons:
- undersized combo guard
- no advanced playmaking skills nor advanced ball handling. 2.8TO for 3.8APG
- not refined footwork as shooter

Questions:
- can he develop into good NBA defender? at least at PG position? we need a big defender at PG who can fight through screens, handle the ball and hit open 3s
- can he be a good slasher in NBA?

Comparison:
Less aggressive Marcus Smart (???)

Highlights:

Gleague stats:
23ppg, 3rpg, 4apg. 53%FG, 39%3PT on 6 attempts, 79%FT

Jared Terrell

Pros:
- athleticism. strong build
- willingness to pass the ball
- seems to be able to play catch and shoot
- quick release, good shooting form

Cons:
- undersized shooting guard
- no advanced playmaking skills nor advanced ball handling
- inconsistent as shooter

Questions:
- can he defend SG/PG?
- can he score consistently in NBA?

Comparison:
Avery Bradley without defense (???)

Highlights:

Gleague stats:
17.7ppg, 5.7rpg, 3.7apg. 39%FG, 31%3PT on 5.3 attempts

P.S. I like them both as development prospects. Depends on our situation next year and their development trajectory they both can find minutes as rotational players.

Hey if they get this guy can we all agree to refer to him as Django or another short name? Last thing I want to hear during games is Darius Johnson-Odom or even Johnson-Odom all game. I already want the Wolves to trade Kat for no better reason than the voices refuse to stop saying Karl Anthony Towns in one breath.

I thought they assigned him there before the season started.

I was excited to see him get a good chunk of Thibs time when someone took a game off. Want to see his reach and Okogies reach on the court at the same time just once.

Every time I think about Keita Bates-Diops I think about his 7'3" wingspan. If he can add just a bit of something he will be a valuable rotation player. If he adds some defensive awareness, such as positional defense, rotation, he might be our answer as smallball stretch four. His 3pt shooting is above average for rookie. If he improves quickness, He might be our second 3&D.

He is moving well off the ball. Nice to see him mixing up cuts and open 3s.

From DJO scouting report:

Measurements: Height - 6'1" w/o shoes, 6'2" (some say 6'3") w/shoes; Weight - 215 pounds; Wingspan - 6'6.5"; Max Vert - 40"; Lane Agility - 10.84

Thats some pretty good physical tools.

He is kind of half step slow for a wing, but I like his patience in defense. And that wingspan definetely helps.

Some good defense from KBD here. The only thing I wish he had more consistent shot mechanic and footwork. He is kind of falling back a bit too hard when he shoots even open 3s

Dorian Finney-Smith, Pascal Siakam.

Watching and reading scouting reports I thought about KBD... While I am big fan of Okogie as our rising star, I have strong feeling that KBD can be our answer as versatile comboforward. He needs to add more consistent 3pt shooting, a bit improved quickness and show high level effort, but I have high hopes for him.
