It's not easy to become an entirely new team during a season but it can be done.

What type of team do we become? A far better one. Pretty much every tool on this team is designed to play the opposite style of Vuc. By getting rid of him we would be positively impacting the output of basically every other player on the team. Playing faster and outside in rather than inside out is what guys like AG Isaac and Bamba need.

Also, I never said he would be CHEAP, I expect 20mi/year and I think it's fair.

I get that you and BAMBAEXPRESS doesn't like him and I know he is not perfect, but he is kind of young and the best player in our team. Let's not pretend it's really easy to replace him and Bamba is ready. Vuc is loyal and a very constant player, that's something we can't say about any of our players (including Aaron, Bamba, Isaac, etc...).

Trading him for a late 1st round pick is a bad deal, the odds of finding someone as good as him are really low. I can see we trading him and then we drafting someone like Jerian Grant and then people complaining that Vuc is doing a great job in Boston or wherever.

Do you have any ideal trade ideas or have you not thought that far?

No, I haven't thought about specific trade ideas, but we can find some partners. For example:
- Boston has 4 1st round picks in the next Draft;
- Spurs might be interested in Simmons;
- Bucks need some presense inside, we can send Birch + our 2nd (#31) for their 1st (#27).
- Thunder might like Fournier and his outside shooting.
- Perhaps we can trade Aaron + Ross/DJ for McCollum (unlikely, but we can TRY).

I'm talking about trades for Vuc. You say we should resign him in order for us to increase his trade value. That is something that doesn't make sense to me. What are some good trade ideas you have?

I said to trade him two years from now when Bamba is ready, so there is no point to think about trades for him at this point.

It's a shame he's still the player he was at Arizona

Backing him is starting to pay off for long time AG supporters like us. 8-)

From what we've seen from Bamba and Issac you won't get immediate result from these guys until 2-3 more years down the line. Vuc is clearly the most complete offensive player this team has and it would be difficult to replace him. Unless this team is able to find someone in free-agency/trade to mirror his impact.

I'm not against trading anyone... But this team needs structure and they finally have it. We've been complaining for years that this team lacks hierarchy to where players can properly develop, and when they do finally have one people want to break it up without any sort of contingency.

You trade Vucevic (given his value/age/contract) you're not going to get much in return for him. Mid first round pick at best...

I dont this year is real. That early hot 2017 start was due to Fournier, Vuc and AG shooting lights out and off to a hot start. This year they are moving the ball, playing with effort, and most importantly we are healthy!

As long as we remain healthy, we have a shot at the playoffs. Imagine if we had a legit starting PG? If we make the PO, I think Kemba has to consider us.

One thing Isaac might be able to do is shut down a player down in the playoffs, if he's in shape and healthy. I remember the Magic being up 3-1 on the Pistons and TMac was putting on a show. The Pistons put rarely played rookie Prince on him and he shut him down the rest of the series.

Isaac's unique size, strength, and agility means he could be a viable defensive option to all the top wings in the NBA: LeBron, KD, Kawhii. Probably not Giannis yet though, Giannis might be too strong.

Isaac has to prove he can stay healthy.

Things that go without saying, for 200 Alex.

If we win tonight one of the Magic players could be player of the week and I guess in contention for player of the month.

I think we need to drop simmons and switch to a 9 man rotation. there is way more playmaking in the first unit isaac and bamba could benefit from.

Skepticism is certainly warranted. However, the gameplay isn't relying on hot shooting like it was early last season. Ball movement and transition seems to be fueling our offense, and those two things should be foundational in any offense. I think it's telling when you see these stats and still see us miss wide open jumpers. It means we aren't relying on just being able to make shots.
