OK. -- I tried to make a good excuse.

You're good, Parl. I agree with your takes way more often than not, although I admit to being irritated at being called plastic for accurately saying the team is playing pathetically when they're playing pathetically.

Well. There are a bunch of us diehards, that go more for the long picture. That's what I mean.
One game. Eh. -- No NBA team has Ever won every game.

So, we're more concerned with their overall play, over the long-term.
Which, that's a bit of a problem now, too.

I still think that we're going to the Finals, though.

I hear ya. I generally take a long view too, but not in game threads. In game threads I'm just reacting to what I'm watching at the time. Praise em when they're playing well, criticize them when they're stinking it up.

WTH are you talking about?

To sign Hayward there was a required sea change. Olynyk, Bradley and Crowder had to go. I loved watching the 16-17 team. Tenacious defense, great ball movement. One of the best teams in the league to watch. Kyrie was a great upgrade over IT. Love to see him with that roster. The ball doesn't move as much (or at least effective) as it used to, there is a lack of inside presence on both sides of the ball.

And Hayward looks emotionless half the time.

Personally, I'm not judging Hayward on how he looks in November in his comeback. If he looks this way in April, I'll worry. Olynyk, Bradley and Crowder were gone last year too, and I thought last year's team was better than 16-17, and even more likable too.

Something does seem wrong with this team so far this year though, and I'm not certain what it is, but Hayward not being back to what he was this early is not a big concern for me.

Just a crappy inconsistent team right now. I am curious for those that believe they will turn this around. When will it happen? After 30 games if you don’t see a turnaround then idk what to tell you. This team’s one of the biggest dissapointments thus far.

That 16-17 team did win a lot but also had no chance against great teams and also never blew ANYONE out. Legit if IT was off the floor, the team played like they were in a coma

Last year's team, even after Kyrie went down, was better than the IT-era teams.

Gordon of course coming back from the injury and year off just played 39 minutes the night before. And so easy to forget that Tatum is still only 20 years old.

IMO Brad has overplayed Brown for what he has provided all season. Maybe Tatum for when he is undisciplined. Maybe also overplayed Al in terms of minutes at the 5, particularly at his age. He also probably has underplayed Theis--a hustle player who delivers. Maybe more broadly he underplayed the bench back when they were consistently providing more than the starters. Now Smart and TRo are struggling too. Baynes with his toughness underplayed.

I think Brad's approach to offense lends itself to settling for 3's as opposed to more of a smash-mouth, take it to the hole first, approach. And that can come apart pretty easily.

the whining in these game threads is "being critical."

Again, we're not allowed to whine about the team being pathetic?

You totally can. But I can make fun of that whining too. Every missed shot is not the end of the world

If they don't start playing better, I think it's pretty safe to assume that a move will be made. Personally I think Brown's days as a Celtics are numbered regardless.

There is a really good chance that we give guys plenty of rest, finish 3rd in the east and just turn it on in the playoffs too. But either way, the talent is pretty obvious. We've already beaten 3 out if the 4 best teams in the east and would have beaten all 4 if not for a ridiculous sequence
