Wizards Ready To Discuss John Wall, Bradley Beal Trade

Post#1 » by gtn130 » Mon Nov 19, 2018 6:22 pm

Wizards giving impression no player exempt from possible trade talks

I think this deserves its own thread. My first inclination is to say Wall is unmovable.

EG should [obviously] not be leading the rebuild.

Beal, 25, could turn out to be the guard with the most value on the trade market, with his 3-point shooting ability, a more manageable contract and being three years younger than Wall.

Wall's contract extension starts in 2019-20 and will average $42 million annually for four years. What further complicates moving Wall is the inclusion of a 15 percent trade kicker in his deal. Wall is a five-time All-Star who has been a favorite of ownership.

You guys can expect a serious haul for Beal. Dude is a stud and possibly the single best target on the trade market.

You guys hoping for proven pieces to get back to winning soo?

Or embracing the possibility of a full on franchise reboot?

I agree with gtn: Wall's trade value is minimal because of his reputation and huge contract. you might be stuck with him for another year or two...

I wouldn’t be too pessimistic about moving Wall. There are teams that desperately need a PG, and could see him as a guy being held back by incompetent management (possibly true). The contract is absolutely massive though.

This a great opportunity for a franchise who can’t get a star in FA. We have to be very fearful of what Ernie does though, he panics

Looking AT THE LIST OF GUYS THAT CAN'T BE TRADED UNTIL Dec, I'd guess the trade partner is either Dallas or New Orleans -- when DeAndre Jordan and Julius Randle, respectively, can be traded.

Everyone knows its GSW, and Kevin Durant. KD wants out, but EG isnt sure if he should give up Wall for KD.

If M Jordan wasn't so stubborn, I'd think this was the perfect opportunity for the Hornets to acquire a perennial All Star PG under contract for years in exchange for young Kemba Walker.

Some combination of Kemba, Nic Batum and/or MKG for Wall straight up would benefit both franchises.

Neither of those teams have a need at the 1.

Another is Caldwell-Pope, who along with Ball make a trade quickly doable. Also makes a lot of sense for both teams. I just don’t see James waiting 2-3 years on Ball.

Godspeed gentlemen. Hopefully for your sake Ted will come to his senses and fire Ernie before letting any of these deals happen.

Not likely. We are talking about an owner who literally got into fisticuffs with a fan over Ernie.

Man....I miss Abe Pollin.

John Wall was my favorite Wizard / Redskin since the Gilbert Arenas fiasco. I wouldn't have thought about trading him until sometime last year. But now, i'd be very happy if he's gone.

The Wizards team with Wall, Beal and Porter suck and as others have pointed out we get no cap relief if we trade the other 2 big contracts.

Hopefully we can get something back for Wall and Porter (i haven't been impressed with him since the playoff series a couple of years back). I'd love to keep Beal and Oubre and fill out our roster from there.

I'm assuming Dallas would likely include Dennis Smith, Jr. in any John Wall trade. DSJ has struggled with another ballhandler on the floor in the early going.

I suspect New Orleans is just desperate to keep as much talent around Anthony Davis as possible.

This is how all good business people do it

..buy high (max player after decent years) sell low (when the team is in disarray).

Only if the wiz cut pope and ball immediately....those dudes are not pieces to build a respectable team around
