but bob is a better prospect. longer, taller, more athletic. seems to have a better feel for the game defensively at least. mickey had a solid j tho, hopefully bob can work on that.

Clearly they don't want Williams to even attempt a jumper in a game yet. But we know they are also having him work on a 3. Which tells me there's potential there that is coming along. But they want him to focus his game for now on what will get him on the floor, particularly with his prodigious gifts on D and at the rim, first.

And Mickey has shown some capability with his blocking, obviously, but also rebounding and scoring a bit. So he might be one of those guys who comes back to the league in a couple of years, ready to at least stick on someone's roster somewhere.

I could see him leapfrogging Theis and even playing instead of Baynes some of the time. While coaches don't love his style nowadays 15 years ago this guy would have been a #1 pick, IMHO.

It's a copycat league so everyone wants to be GS. What teams are realizing, including the Celtics, is that you can't play that way unless you have historical shooting talent. Guys who can get a bunch of points at the rim are getting really valuable again.

Even the Warriors aren't going to be the Warriors anymore, with DMC for the playoffs. I think the new big men are going to tilt the game a bit again.

Mickey was nowhere close to the prospect that Williams is

Look at the guys who everyone wants right now. Giannis can barely shoot but puts so much pressure on the rim its crazy. Embiid of course the classic post force. We're getting back to the big man's game..

That's what makes Simmons's game work as well as it does, too.

Williams has been pretty effective on his limited time. I’d like to see him start getting regular minutes.

Williams and Theis need minutes.

Seen enough of those two to know they need to get time. Move Horford to PF and play a 3-man C rotation of Williams, Theis, Baynes with Horford maybe limited at the 5.

Yes! Something like 10, 15 and 23 for Williams, Theis and Baynes, respectively.

Williams is a perfect player to play alongside Horford. I hope Stevens starts giving him playing time in every game however little.

I just loved everything he said in that podcast. Wisdom beyond his years. Hope he's a Celtic for 15 years.
