How about Hughes for Sheffield and Joba for Lofton? I think that enough to get our hands on those studs. If not lets add Melky and Kennedy. Get er done Cashman!

I don't care how far back in Yankees history you choose to go, you will not come across a better duo of pitching prospects coming through the system together than Hughes and Joba. There may be some for other teams (Braves in the late 80s of course), but that is about it. People don't realize that can be happening in Yankee Stadium for the next 15 years with these 2 guys.

That really is amazing. I think what makes it even better is the rest of the rotation is pretty good too. Wang, one of the best pitchers in the AL, along with a host of guys for 4 and 5 in the future such as Kennedy, Horne, Ohlendorf, Garcia and Sanchez. I'm sure I am forgetting some as well. A dominating 1-5. -Jitpal

Not yet? More practice in the bullpen? The kid has been a starter his whole life, Dakka.

No he won't, the only reason Karstens is starting is because Clemens is serving his suspension.

Karstens is only starting because Clemens is suspended.

Yeah, Joba gets as many days off as innings he pitched. So we won't see him again until tomorrow.

Im not sayin lets not START him.. Im sayin lets not rush since the Yankees have been playin great... Y not give him more innings in the bullpen and let him get a taste of longer outings be4 he officiallys starts..

I no this kid has been great and i wouldnt mind seeing him start a game but i just want him 2 get a longer view of pitchin shorter outings before he goes out there for a whole game

I'm jsut glad the front office didn't go into panic mode and fleece the farm system for quick fix earlier in the season.

You're missing the point, hes been starting his whole life. he knows what its like to pitch long innings. Or maybe i'm missing the point, are you saying to get a taste of more BIG LEAGUE innings?

We talked about this before, Karstens is only starting because Clemens was suspended. Our rotation the rest of the year is going Wang, Pettitte, Clemens, Moose, Hughes

Do you realize that would give us 6 starters?
