westbrook's behavior in games like this is what separates him from other current nba superstars. yeah, yeah other stars make silly plays or have dumb moments but no one else is like westbrook with this emotions driven 'dagger' seeking. it really makes a difference sometimes.

Anyone ever wonder what is wrong with him? Seriously. Mentally the dude isn't all there.

Billy could have benched Melo from grant. Benching Westbrook would have meant playing Felton. Big difference.

Also, I’m done with the idea of holding on to Patterson and Abrines because of the idea we cant lose shooting. I hope both of them figure it out but I don’t see a future for a either of them in this team.

This game in itself doesn’t mean much. That being said I have a very hard time with the way Westbrook played tonight. It’s such stubborn obstinance to common sense. Just one person in the local media say, “russ what’s wrong with your free throw shooting? When you were 1-5 from three, did you think about going away from the three point shot?” I’ve never cheered for a player that frustrated me so much. He’s still better than schroder.

Pretty much all this. The shooting I wonder if it's a weird fatigue/getting in shape thing, but pretty much exactly my feeling.

Virtually everyone that’s great has a chip on their shoulder. In the case of russ I think if he had made a couple he would have started going to the basket. It’s almost like he can’t quit shooting until he satisfies himself that he can make them. That being said, his shot is worse than ever. I hope it’s conditioning and rust but at some point we may have to accept reality. He’s still great at times. He was great last night. He wasn’t the same player last year that he was his mvp year. We blamed a lot of it on Melo and trying to accommodate the new guys. If he can stay healthy then at some point he needs to get close to what he was in 2016. Maybe not the massive numbers but maybe occasionally getting a field goal attempt and free throw shot passed the front of the rim. If he doesn’t improve, I think we have our answer.

Burton is like a poor mans diallo. He’s got better handles than hami but he ends up making either a spectacular/boneheaded play. I think he’s worth keeping around but he needs to refine his game quite a bit.

I refuse to get too out of sorts about this game because it was against Denver and they were down 20+ earlier in the game. Sure they could have won the game, but they also could have been blown out. Denver is a solid team and this team lost two of its wings in the same game earlier this week while Abrines continues to recover from AIDS/ Tuberculosis/ Smallpox for the 100th game in a row. Losing rotation wings will come back to bite you at some point. Especially when we get to see just how terrible TLC is.

We can moan and complain about Russ taking 12 threes, but what’s the point?
1. He will do it again at some point
2. He doesn’t do it every game

It’s a chronic incurable disorder. Sometimes you get a flare up and it will go away. However, it will come around again.

Random thoughts:
Patterson is approaching singler levels of competency. Anybody who thinks Ferg is bad should get a load of TLC. Gee whiz

They lost because they gave up a 20 point lead in the first half and nobody played well. Westbrook was bad. Adams was bad, George was bad, etc. When everyone plays poorly, you lose. One game in November, still a lot of decent signs for this team to finish about where expected

I think there's got to be a sort of pathology to a person who can go 1 of 12 and just keep letting it rip while his teammates who aren't terrible just stand there twiddling their thumbs. This is not the 2016-17 season. Semaj Christon isn't coming off that bench. He's got help. There's no excuse for him to play that way. AND then, (this is the kicker) in other games not play like that. Can literally shoot no threes for several games and to play entirely within the team flow. Demonstrating he understands what he needs to do and what works. But he just randomly forgets it and has some sort of brain fart about this. THAT is what is incredibly weird about him.

It was terrible. One of the worst "bad Russ" games we've seen in some time. Literally forced shots after doing that clutch it thing he does multiple times. I just don't know how anyone can think that is going to work consistently. Go watch any great shooter. Steph, Klay, Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Kyle Korver, Larry Bird, hell, Jason Kapono, literally none of them shot it that way. Meanwhile this dude is doing it repeatedly in the same game.
