Best 3-4 Hitter Combo in the Majors in 2007

Post#1 » by brewcityboii » Sun Aug 12, 2007 3:36 pm

Ramirez and Ortiz would usually be at the top IMO but with Papi's Injury and both of there production falling off a little from previous years I don't think it is them. So if not those two than who?

Is it....
Ordonez and Sheffield?
Whoever they bat 3(either Abreau, matsui or Jeter) and A-Rod?
Victor Martinez and Ryan Garko?
Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau?
Pujos and Edmonds?
Braun and Fielder?
Chipper Jones and Mark Texiera?
Pat Burrell and Ryan Howard?
Cabrera and Willingham?
Wright and Delgado?
Lee and Ramirez?
Holliday and Atkins?

I think it between (maybe it's cause I am a homer) Ordonez and Sheffield or Braun and Fielder. Although I think I would give a slight edge to Maggs and Sheff.

Methinks this is the homer thread, because you don't even have half the pairings right.

Utley/Howard
Hafner/Martinez
Holliday/Helton
Beltran/Delgado

Also the Cards change there 4th hitter so much it's not even funny, so there is no set guy. And the Marlins lineup isn't always the same too.

I will give you your jollies though and say Braun/Fielder has been the best this year.

Braun/Prince have been the best this year. But, when they're at their best, I'd go with Ortiz/Manny and Hafner/Martinez ahead of them.

Ortiz/Manny when they are both normal. Mags and Sheff are second. I like that combo of Tex/Chipper but I would put Braun/Fielder ahead of them.

Fielder has been hitting everything out and Braun is ROY.

The best 3-5 should have been Lee, Ramirez, Soriano, but we screwed that up.

Agree 100% I thought The combo of those 3 this year were going to shred the Majors.

Thats why I love this sport so much cause it is so unpredictable

They are having down power years, but they are still hitting pretty good. Manny and Ortiz should be there just because they have been arguably the best 3-4 the last 3 years

Braun and Fielder have looked pretty tough in the limited games i've seen but because of the damage done to my team, i'd have to go with Helton and Holliday.
