John Wall Has Very Few Teams Interested In Trading For Him

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Nov 25, 2018 9:12 pm

Bradley Beal has considerably more trade value for the Washington Wizards than John Wall.

"I think the Bradley Beal situation we'll monitor," said Adrian Wojnarowski. "There's very few teams who wouldn't be interested in Bradley Beal. The contract. The player. The age. 25 years old. His skill set. Shooting threes. I know Washington has fielded a lot of calls since last week,

"John Wall is a very different situation," said Wojnarowski. "You can count on one hand, and probably with just a couple of fingers places that really might have interest in taking his contract on and what it all means to bring him in.

"I would never say there's no market for John Wall, but I think Bradley Beal has a much broader market. But if Washington was going to do something, they would have to get every last asset they could for Bradley Beal."

It makes sense.

Brad is signed through 2021. No reason to deal him now.

But the urgent matter is that Ernie Grunfeld has to go. He's a failure. He's the worst GM in the NBA and has had this job since 2003.

The Wizards need a new front office to chart a new course. It's that simple.

I don't think he' a smart GM either but I have to say that he's basically followed a good plan and he's not the reason it's failed. He got an all-NBA building block, then nailed a couple other top draft picks to be the 2nd and 3rd best players, then surrounded them with quality vet role players. He's made some mistakes but so has the GM of every good team, and I don't know if we can fault his execution.

It seems like the team just hasn't gelled and the key pieces (esp Wall) aren't quite consistent or good enough to win meaningfully.

I was with you until the all-NBA building block part, who was that supposed to be? Was John Wall mistakenly 3rd team all-NBA one year?

He's hired some complete turd coaches. I expect Vinnie Del Negro and Mike Brown next.

The only picks he's nailed are Wall, Beal, and Porter.

He should have been fired after 2009 by trading the 5th pick for Foye/Miller. He should have been fired in 2011 after drafting Jan Vesley who we all knew was a bust. He had another 1st rounder and used it on Chris Singleton who was out of the league within 4 years.

He signed Mahinmi to a $64M contract! He signed Andrew Nicholson to a $24M contract and then had to unload the 2017 1st rounder to dump it... that 1st became Jarrett Allen!

He's a TERRIBLE GM. He is the worst GM in the NBA. How do you have a job after 16 years of below-average management? The Wizards went 5 straight years with no postseason appearence from 2008-2013.

Aingle and Buford are the only people with a tenure as long as Grunfeld and they have rings. Pat Riley has been head of the HEAT for a long time as well.

This is not acceptable. HE SHOULD NOT BE THE ONE WHO REBUILDS THIS ROSTER.

Exactly. This was pressing news. Did this really need to be reported? Let alone everyone talks about how awful that John Wall contract is

A perfect example, along with the crew in Chicago, as to why the owner should never have the final say in putting a FO together.

No body wants Wall’s ridiculous contract.

Wall got his contract and is now being fat and lazy.. The amount his on is ridicolous but if he was playing at the level he is capable of and showing the commitment their would be more interested teams... Wall is a cry baby too so not sure what to expect..

More folks need to observe as this poster has. Pre$ in shape. post$ out of shape and full of ego.
Never let (super)stars off the hook for being out of shape while their paycheck reflects that of someone who's in peak shape and top of the league.
CP. LOWRY. WALL. PG and WESTBROOK both look noticeably heavy too...

Not really surprising. Wall has a massive contract, has had issues with teammates, reportedly has problems with Scott Brooks, and you have to build your offense around him. Beal on the other hand has a skillset that could fit into virtually any team.

If the wizards trade Wall who's their primary ball-handler gonna be? Dwight?

What is Wall going to get his teammates for Christmas this year? Another Watch?
