Pacers 3 mysteries

Post#1 » by Topofthekey » Thu Nov 22, 2018 9:54 am

1. Why is Leaf a perpetual bench warmer? Did he accidentally eat Nate's sandwich or something?

2. Why does no one pass the ball to Dougie when he is open? Do they not care about his feelings?

3. Why does Nate allow CoJo to hang on to the ball so much on offense? Did he give Nate his own sandwich after Leaf ate Nate's sandwich?

Bonus mystery:
4.
A. 2017 off-season: sign a few affordable FAs to team friendly contracts, maintain cap space flexibility
B. 2018 trade deadline: stay put, wait for better trades
C. 2018 off-season: offer team friendly contracts, maintain cap space flexibility (extends Myles Turner later)
D. 2019 trade deadline: ?
E. 2019 off-season: ???

My prediction for
D: stay put, wait for better trades
E: offer team friendly contracts, use cap space to re-sign own players

1. Nate says a 10 man rotation doesn't work as well as a 9. He's been leaving Bougie in with 4 reserves. Why he doesn't want to do a full hockey subscription is mystery 1b.

1. I’ll answer with a question. What has Leaf done to deserve more run?
2. Agree with this one. Douggie is starting to cut better to get open and I think is getting the rock a little bit more. Nate ran a nice action for him to get him a shot last night or hell maybe it was Monday. Too much bourbon for me last night.
3. Good question. CoJo plays great D but the ball does stick with him too much.

I'll provide a bonus mystery.

Who's shooting 70% from the field and 80% from three, and is only 7th in field-goal attempts on this team?

I actually had to check this on ESPN, pretty absurd. Still only playing 24 minutes per game, that needs to be closer to 30.

I get that a big part of why he's shooting so efficiently is that he's only taking very good open shots, or very close to the rim. But it's probably better if he averages 55-60% from the field on 12-14 attempts, than 70% on 8 attempts.

This thread further solidifies my belief that our Pacers forum severely lacks appreciation of good posts. i.e. we don't +1 each other enough.

The original post certainly deserves more than just my +1. Whether you agree with the mysteries at hand or not. It was great!

(And I totally understand the +1's are meaningless, but let's not act like we don't like receiving them)

work hours, I read these messages on my computer and can +1. nights and weekends I use my android phone and haven't figured out a way to +1 using the Android App. if there is a way short of using the browser instead of the app, I'd sure like to know it

Agree. But, needs to stay out of foul trouble at times to keep those minutes up. Dude always seems to get a tough whistle.

Ah, yes, I forgot the app. I used it previously and hated it. I access the forum via the Brave browser which prevents pop-ups and is much more user friendly than the app, or Chrome for that matter.

I hope I didn't come off passive aggressive in any way. The original post just made me chuckle.

no problem here. I was really hoping there was a hidden way to and one from the app and my message would lead someone to help me find it.

As far as I could tell, I never saw the way to do it. But the Brave browser works great. 8-)
