Coming to Cleveland this weekend...

Post#1 » by CoachD » Tue Nov 27, 2018 10:12 pm

Hey all, Raptor fan here that decided to make the trip to your city this weekend with my lady to watch Cavs V Raps

Its been YEARS since I was in Cleveland. Suggestions? Places we should / shouldn't eat?

Hotel suggestions?

Anything worth seeing that I wouldn't know about as an outsider?

Thanks

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is worth checking out while you're here. If you want to basically park and walk, you can stay at a Holiday Inn on East Sixth and Euclid, take in the East Fourth area, House of Blues, etc.

Down by the river they dumped truckloads of money into the East bank of the Flats. All new developments and restaurants. W. 25th is the new brewery district. Great Lakes Brewery is the most famous. Across the street is the West Side Market.

Treamont is close and the hipster neighborhood. Detroit/Shoreway has a number of restaurants. Brothers Lounge off of W. 117th has good live music but it's a drive from downtown.

Not a great time of year for anything memorable
outside the City though too late for lake front and too soon for snow sports. Street gyro vendors in the flats have best in the state.

Couldn't tell you a exact amount a couple blocks out. I'd use public transportation if staying outside the city to avoid it and the strict policing of traffic etc as the bar scene is massive. It's gonna run $30 in the hub and not have to drive again until morning.
If you get there early this time of year ( 2 hours or so, you can find a metered spot on the street and hoof it 8-9 blocks)
