Trade for Markelle Fultz, now while his value is low??

Post#1 » by Grumpy Heat Fan » Wed Nov 28, 2018 8:43 am

I think the Heat can fix him.

He's only 20.

I think we should do it. What do ya'll think?

No one knows what's wrong with him. So how can you say he can rehab? Unless Pat gets a concrete explaination on what's wrong and that it can be fix, then only can Pat make a decision. But we seen a yr and a month of him and he is not the same player he was in college or summer league.

If the cost is Ellington, or Ellington and McGruder, why not? We got nothing to lose.

I think the 76ers jump on that. They need shooting.

Was never that high on him but it's a low risk high reward situation. Give them Ellington a top-tier shooter they desperately need ( a guy who have to pay anyway in the off-season or let walk) and let's tear this team down and rebuild right.

We have two picks back to back, I really hope Riley sees that this team is going no where blows it's up and trades everyone but the young nucleus and Wade.

Drafting a top 4 prospect in this draft would be a huge success.

Fultz
Zion/RJ/Cam/Little
J-rich
Winslow
Bam

Is a nice start.

1. He's making 10 Mil next year,12 Mil the year after that. It's not a "low risk" move.

2. He's not simply injured. His mystery injury is not healing and no one seems to know what it is. There's no reason to think he'll get better anytime soon, and by the time he might be better he'll becaome a free agent anyway.

3. I'm done with guards/wings that can't shoot. So done with them.

The 12m is a team option if im not mistaken which WOULD make it a low risk as we can just waive him if no progress is made and his condition is confirmed irreparable .

We'll also have a full deck of cap room in two years anyways with all the expirings, especially if Riley persistently trots down the "stealth tank" route instead of blowing it up immediately .

I'll take the chance on a team devoid of talent. Im tired of seeing this sub par product on the court getting washed by the likes of the lowly ATL. **** that.

Trading Ellington for Fultz is a no brainer for me.

I would love for it to happen, but no chance it occurs.

You're being way too greedy for a top 4 pick. Odds of getting the #1 overall pick is at best 14% now anyways.

If he is acquirable, then you do it.

Who cares about the risk at this point? We are not a good team. The players we would ship out for him (at least the expected value sent) are not players we should mourn in any situation. If you get a high ceiling player for Ellington you did it without an eyelash batted.

His contract also shouldn't play a part either. We don't have to worry about contracts this year or next. We are super high payroll. Once we've swallowed that pill, we will have the money we need to pursue any big name FA. We damn well better have a juicy roster to whet the appetite of a stud like AD.

If he fails, then we've lost nothing more than mediocrity. If he succeeds, then "BOOM!". It seems fairly obvious to me which direction we should lean in.

Like I said in the other thread. I would entertain Waiters for Fultz. Waiters has similar contract long term, still young and actually fits the same role that the 76ers were looking for Fultz to take. But I got to get a definite answer on his shoulder. I need to know if he needs surgery, will it take a year to heal and another year of rehab. And will it fully recover.

Rumor is 76ers are in talks with Cavs involving Fultz. I am assuming its for JR Smith

I made this thread 2 years ago,

saying we needed to grab Fultz while his value was low, cause we could help him develop. He is now a borderline All-Star and still improving.

Markelle Fultz so far this season:

20.7 PPG
4.3 APG
49.0 FG%
92.3 FT%

Pat should hire me for the Heat as a consultant. I stay making good predictions.

For Mia, I prefer Lonzo Ball.

An even cheaper option might be Dennis Smith Jr.

Riley hire this grumpy guy. Harden to Miami is your best statement, hopefully it comes true
