Doesn't make sense to cut him unless we're bringing somebody else in. We're already short handed. We could've just parked him on the bench and played Okobo or Melton. Gotta be making a move.

It would be kind of funny if Canaan was told he was out of the rotation, complained about it and the suns were like oh yeah well that fine we'll just cut you.

I doubt this was it though. You'd think a fringe guy like Canaan would savor any chance to be on a roster since this could be his last shot.

Hope this means we see more Melton.

We now have 2 roster spots open after the huge crunch to start the season. Hopefully we do something with it and not wait around.

Canaan being released is excellent news. Glad that he recovered, but there's not a lot of room for a guy that isn't a playmaker, shooter, or defender. Wonder who fills those 20-30 minutes per game?

I would think someone who covers the suns would realize you can't sign guys to 10 day contracts until January. I do think theres kind of a work around where you could sign him to a non-guaranteed deal though.

I don't think so as the Suns probably would be sending more players to the Wizards creating EVEN more roster spots

I doubt Anderson and the Bucks pick get it done. Maybe a protected lottery pick too.

Ive seen a few people on Twitter say something like this. Maybe he wasnt happy being taken out of the rotation and asked to be cut (Or Traded). Problem is that goes completely against what he said to Gina Mizell yesterday.

Also doesnt make sense that a fringe NBA player would ask out from the one team that was giving him a chance. Also doesnt make sense to just cut him mid season for no reason.

I smell a trade a brewing!

Maybe it was simply James Jones way of getting Igor to stop **** playing him :)

Nah, most likely someone who doesnt make a ton of money, as cutting Canaan to set up a trade would mean we are opening up roster spots as we plan on taking back more players than we are sending out. So it would mean a handful of players on small deals for one of our larger contracts, not the opposite and sending out a bunch of contracts for one LARGE one.

Maybe its Hill and Korver for Anderson Daniels and the Bucks pick

Korver has a cap hit of like 3.4m next year plus the 1m Hill buyout so that would reduce the Suns three year stretch for Anderson - meaning years two and three. CAvs get a draft pick for basically $11m in Anderson.
