Sorry to say, but dude hasn't improved or taken the next step to be like a 20 point scorer.

Um, no.

Porter ranked 3rd among small forwards in RPM last year and 4th the year before (and 12th the year before that). He has led the team in ORtg and WS/48 for 2 years running. He led the team last year in BPM and VORP and was 2nd in both categories the year before.

I realize there are legitimate differences of opinion between what advance metrics say and what conventional numbers and "the eye test" can tell you about a player. But suffice to say, there is a fairly strong statistical argument that Porter has been our best player over the past 2 years, and even if you want to ding him for his low usage rate, it's pretty hard to argue that he has been significantly worse than Wall and Beal over the last 3 years. Surely, he is not a "bust"

Porter had a bit of a slow start this year, but seems to be rounding into form. I suspect that he will finish out the year leading or being right alongside Wall and Beal in advanced metrics, but with better efficiency and lower usage. Also, with him moving to PF full time, I think it increases his value. Power forwards typically operate off the ball and score in a complimentary manner alongside primary ball handlers. At PF, Otto's sub-par ability to create off the bounce will be less of a liability, and his deadly outside shooting will be even more of an advantage in spacing the floor.

Come on now, you have to come in with a better question than that. Maybe could say there were 3 guys in that draft with hindsight we would draft over him, or question if his development has plateaued, but no where near a bust.

Jan Veselý was a bust.

He’s not a bust but he’s a poster-child for awful management, he is paid as one of the best players in the league and he’s more top 33%. Same was Juwan Howard was in the late 90s for us.

When you get paid record and/or max money most fans expect winning plays/excitement/personality/energy. That’s not Otto Porter.

First you ask if the Mavs should get a new coach and dump Carlisle on the Mavs board, and now this? Answer is No for both

This thread idea is a bust. For newbies, you gotta do more research before coming to a team's board and starting a negative thread like that.

Even the most anti-Otto fans don't think he's a bust.
He isn't playing up to the level of the max extension he got , that's the main issue at hand. But he's a good player.

Otto avg 12 and his per is 15- His stats say middling basketball player....but what is a bust? IF he was more aggressive i guess he would be PG13 let this board tell it. But he is what he is....he is wasting his talent. I wonder if he had a different attitude could he be our teams leader?

Paul Peirce is senile. Living in the 90's he thinks the Celtics are the best team in the league. :noway:
