I could see Bulls unloading jabari and Chuck Holiday before the deadline.

Rockets, Sixers, and Pels want to win and need shooting scoring wings.

We shouldnt dump Chuck unless we are getting rid of Felicio or getting a 1st. Add in Jabari and we just be able to get a late 1st.

I could see Chuck and Jabari for Wilson Chandler, Filler, and a future 1st or Zhaire Smith.

8.3m this season, 9.7m the next, TO at 12.2m, QO at 15.9m.

For a guy that is barely a rotation player at the moment and is facing long odds to try and rework his jumper and fix his career, that's a massive opportunity cost. I'm all for him as a flyer but with that much salary I'm not sure I'm on board.

I suppose the primary question would be during the next 4 years will the Bulls be in a position to sign a significant FA that they wouldn't be able to sign because of Fultz contract.

My answer is no, because if by the time we get to the team option the Bulls could opt out if he doesn't work out.

How would this trade put the Bulls closer to a championship?

I'd view Porter as a 2019 FA signing since it's not likely they sign anyone as good as Porter. So this deal is something I could be talked into.

Ideal wing next to LaVine and Lauri.

Bill Simmons thinks the Bulls should trade for Fultz. He said Blakeney and a 2nd round pick should do the trick. Not a fan of the idea. Sadly Blakeney has been way more productive than Fultz so I'd leave that idea alone for now

I don't see Blakeney as part of our future, so this trade is a low risk. The questions I have would be: How is Fultz shoulder? Did he really get in a motorcycle accident? Are his issues mental? Does he want to play for the Bulls? Is his salary next year worth taking on?

There's no way I see Philly trading Fultz for Blakeney and a 2nd. If that was on the table, and I was the Bulls GM, I'd take it (depending on the answers to my questions).

LMAO at these proposals: Bulls trade their trash (Felicio, Lopez, Payne, Blakney) and get Otto Porter and Fultz out of it. Where do I sign up????? Way too good to be true.

If we are using all our cap space on a Wizard, why in the world do we want Porter instead of Wall?

Look at his future earnings. His Supermax contract starts next year.

Best part of Otto trade is dumping felicio. Otto getting 28M per.

We basically pay him 20M per. That’s a solid deal for fit and age. I think he’s excellent here and basically be a a Holiday on steroids.

Holiday may be better value than Otto. I bet Chuck get 3/30 this summer.

I've invested some time on the Fultz case, and here's what I know: his shoulder is fine; he didn't get in a motorcycle/BMX accident.

Here's what I have concluded: his issues are not mental, but neurological - he has the yips. There's no cure for the yips, and complete remission is rare.

Here's what I think: his next year salary is not a problem for the Bulls.

There's no way I see Philly trading Fultz for Blakeney and a 2nd. If that was on the table, and I was the Bulls GM, I'd take it (depending on the answers to my questions).

Blakeney has one talent: he can shoot the basketball. The problem is, he brings nothing else. Fultz is the polar opposite.

But this is all academic, as Blakeney and a second won't get a trade done.
From the basketball's perspective, travel is a nice pause from being pounded to the floor.

My guess is that his issues are mental too. He got his shoulder examined this week. Has there been any news about the results?

I don't find that trade realistic in the slightest bit (no way Wiz dump him for negative value players), but I would love it....even if Porter is overpaid.

From a financial point of view this trade makes sense for the Wizards. Also, Dwight Howard is injured, so they could use someone like RoLo right away. They would need to get rid of Payne, and would likely be stuck with Felicio.

Porter I think would fit in nicely with the Bulls. A 3&D wing who doesn't need the ball in his hands.

Porter's contract though... 28 millions with a 15% trade kicker. That is not a mild overpay.

Yea, the salary is really high. And the trade kicker is crazy on top of it. Maybe he would waive it?

I see both Blakeney and Holiday in Rockets uniform. What would we get out of them I don't know.

Return to Chicago Bulls
