Re: 2018/19 ROY/Rookie Discussion Thread (Pt 2)
I think being the best player on a winning team is a big deal.
It's different when we're discussing MVP candidates, because they're all the best players on good teams anyway, but with rookies it's a rare thing. And I think it's meaningful because often bad teams dont care and they give the ball to the rookie anyway to develop him, but when a good team really needs a bucket and the W and they give the ball to the rookie to pull them out of the lurch it really says something IMO

Huerter will make an All Star in his career. Has few holes in his game.

Looking good but the highlights are nothing special tbh.

Well suns wanted a big and they got a decent one, hawks wanted a pg and they got a decent one, just not consistent atm but kings really screwed with the trade, especially if mavs get into the playoff and their first pick isn't gonna be really "first" but more 15th.

Hawks made the trade not Kings. It’s funny though that Kings didn’t at least get something for not taking Luka. I’m not sure that many teams had Bagley very high. they could easily traded Luka, get next years first or something else and Bagley. I don’t know what Vlade was doing.

Lukas ability to score a high volume efficiently on a high difficulty of shots is insane for a teenager.

Re: 2018/19 ROY/Rookie Discussion Thread (Pt 2)
ive been calling him a 6'7" Curry for a month. and that is exactly what he is.
but he might be even better. he can create all the curry shots...all the angles...make the passes...catch and shoot...
but...but...he has some thick juicy meat on dem bones!! So he can bang down low...take the contact and make shots.
Luke will be everything Curry AND be a finisher at the end of games...where curry has had to defer to either KD, Klay, or Iggy....Doncic will take the big shots in the paint!!
Doncic is a top 5 player right now!! And beyond an ROY candidate, he is an MVP candidate! yes he is!!
Dallas is getting it together and will end up with 45-55 wins when this season is said and done...Thats a magic johnson, Tim Duncan, Larry Bird rookie year turn around!!
like i said, its a full rebuild.

I wouldn't quite go that far but I think you're not far off.
IF he continues to play the way he has been so far I think he will get votes for MVP - doubt he'd win it but I'm confident he'd get some votes.

LOL calm down buddy
But you can quote me and say how wrong i was if he brings the Mavs into a top4 playoffs spot. But that's next to impossible for now. Specially in the western conference.
