This has been a tough year. Their last play sums it up. Just not meant to be.

So close. It reminded me of when I was a little kid... MD played Penn State every year, and whenever the Terps came close to beating them, it was a big deal. I think they lost about 30 straight years.

Terps mens bball team has got... to shoot more 3's. They won yesterday, but what should have been a blowout was a 15 point win because they made only 7 3's - only 2 by their starting 5. They've got to have one of their bigs - Smith or Fernando - become a 3 point threat. Memo to Turg - 3 points count for more than 2. Both Fernando and Smith did well, but against good teams, they will need to make more 3's. Turg kept saying that Bruno is developing a face game, but we haven't seen it. And when they're both clogging the middle, that makes them more susseptible to turnovers.

Worked out and opted not to watch for I feared Cavs would turn the Terps over and spank them by 15 plus.

Apparently, the Terps had a great effort and lost by only 5.

UVA had 2 to's the entire game - that's crazy. I think UVA is behind Duke and Gonzaga, but they're so good and so disciplined,

I flipped back from Wiz to Md. Wasn't thrilled as most because they were down 17. It's not like they were a 10-point dog. They were 4 but they left Kyle Guy open the entire first half. Poor D but decent O considering they put up 71 on a great UVa D. Wiggins is legit and Sticks Smith barely played because he was getting torched by the Cavs small lineup. So Turge went small with Wiggins, Ayala, Morsell, Cowand and Fernando. That seemed to work. When he goes to the bench, they are really going to struggle against good teams. Serrel Smith is about the only decent backup and Wiggins, though he should see more time than Morsell, who still can't shoot.

As a Md fan and Towson grad, I'm certainly hoping for Locks to get the job. Went to school with him back in the day and he played safety and walked on the basketball team. Had a few red flags at New Mexico but if they want to win in the long term and stay competitive in the short term, while keeping a lot of local recruits local, he's the guy.

i was at that uva/umd game last night and it was wild. repping the hoos though (shout out to Sev). great game, and i'll give credit to Maryland - they looked good. just bad foul shooting and 3 point shooting. they were on fire at the end though, that's why it got as close as it did. strong post play by Bruno and the guy in the goggles who's not Bruno.

Yup.

UVA is polar opposite of UMD.

Turgeon has SUPER HIGH turnovers teams each and every team. Lots of undisciplined players who have MORE THAN enough talent for success at the highest levels...

Turgeon consistently has little depth and struggles with choosing best lineups.

Those two big men are it, apparently. Bruno and Sticks. Past seasons he had NO ONE behind Anthony Cowan, a short and shoot first PG....
