yes, in an ideal world every pregnancy is planned but the reality is that there are irresponsible people in this world and doubling down on a severe punishment on "principles" doesn't help, especially with the externalities of bringing an unplanned child into a family that is ill-equipped to handle it.
goes doubly when the parents are children themselves. saddling a 16 year old with a baby because she made a mistake and not allowing her access to plan B, or RU-486, or abortions bc of ill-defined "i know it when i see it" fetus grounds is a medieval mindset.
The USA needs a workforce! so we need babies. We need
assimilated citizens!!
I agree with DCkings...destigmatize child birth!!!
I'm fine with paying out money to women who have children...as are most conservatives...but not to NOT WORK.
1. Let's make day care more affordable (free if they work and qualify based on low income)
2. Lets guarantee employment for young moms when pregnant or need time off.
3. Let's increase the minimum wage!
4. lets make large employers employ women with children! lets make those employers provide child care (at the factory or at the office!!) ....so mom is nearby!!
We need the damn work force!! really! we do! We need to grow...we need the population to grow...and we dont want people coming here ruining our cities!!!
it has taken 60 years to clean our cities back up!!
Immigrants will come here and ruin neighborhoods. its been happening for over 120 years. First the Irish. then the italians, then the mexicans. They are very poor. unasimilated and resort to crime to make up for it...and dont mind killing people, breaking legs, etc etc to "get theirs." Same thing for these south americans that want to come here now. they are sex trafficking, "turning" these young girls to "hoes" on the way here...drugging them up...and then owning them...using them to sell sex and drugs once they get here. This is REALLY actually happening and en masse. Once they take over a neighborhood, run it down, they will run drugs through it for decades...eventuallyt legalizing their gains into legal businesses...rinse and repeat...the irish did it. the Italians did it. the jews did it. the mexicans did it. the cubans did it. Everyone has done it. Are we going to finally learn from this??? And stop allowing so many to show up and take over large chunks of our cities????
This dude is absolutely **** stupid and gross. It's a joke that someone saying this stupid bull gets to post for this long and feed whoever reads his drivel. This is beyond political belief. Mods needs to get a goddamn backbone and deal with this. It's unreadable. It may just be a stupid RealGM Wizards thread at the end of the day, but it contributes to the overall hate in America that has been alive for decades. Unacceptable.
And if this is just supposed to be a normal and tolerable right-wing view in order to keep this a "fair and balanced" thread... then we are totally **** as a country to deem talk like this O.K. Not like we are too far off with nuts like Steve King in Congress. Do something about this.
Eh. Heed doc's mantra: "If not for the internet: the unibomber". Ted Kacszinsky blew up planes and professors jsut so someone would publish his anti-technology ranting. A paradox, since if he had believed in the internet he might have found like minded people to talk with and not felt so isolated
Free speech, no matter how reprehensible, innoculates us from seething resentment. Serial killers are always a surprise to their neighbors, who remark: "he was always such a quiet man, kept to himself". MLK protege Bernard Lafayette said ""Violence is a language of the inarticulate, when people don't know how to talk and communicated with each other." If you have problems with StilDroop's loopy screeds, then either beat his ideas down, or put him on ignore. Or engage him in actual conversation, because clearly someone who has time to type out all of these deeply thought out and remarkably wrongheaded screeds, well, they have time to build bombs in basements if they don't have an outlet or an audience. You are doing the world a favor by paying attention, even reacting to his evident trolling by getting all in a fluster and shouting "BAN HIM!!!!11!1!" He's not writing policy, he's trying to get attention from some of the careful thinkers on this backwater thread of fans following a moribund franchise in yet another year of pointless losses.
It's funny because many of STDs screeds have ideas that run exactly counter to those of the Repugnicans or President "Individual 1" (as he's named in the Cohen case). But he still has to lace them with poison pill language of xenophobia etc because really he's just trying to wind you up.
And honestly I disagree with him, I think you get more sticktoitiveness and fire from people who travel here from dismal prospects thousands of miles away than from coddled nativeborn americans (their kids even) who are raised with advertising pandering to them etc. See, there is me, being inflammatory with a blanket statement. But the point of the thread is to incite debate. I have issue with STDs spamming style since it drives out give-and-take and careful thought by giving a constant cam feed from whatever roaring background noise is happenign in that corrupted brain of his

and the board only becomes a pulpit for him to grandstand and yammer and then there's no dialogue, just a madman on the corner shouting at his own voices. BUT! Without even a little of that, we lose a villain. Opposition. Someone you can enjoy disliking and feel righteous about. Competition. And a view into the mindset (such as it is) of people who did elect that bloated bloviating clot of humanity who eats cheeseburgers in bed and tweets us on our merry way towards possible doom.
Anyway. I could do with a few less cuss words and exclamationb points and bold or large font to make a point (people ironically tune you out when you shout at them) and I'd take the digest version of most of those full page jabberings. The same way I'd ask daoneandonly to limit his babykilling references to one a day, I know he is compelled by his own moral force to mention that he doesnt like the death of babies, but it does not educate or further his argument (and on other points he is willing to learn and consider a carefully thought out assessment of a topic) . But 86-ing STD is not the way I'd go if you do want to actually hear voices that don't agree with you. The primary problem is that yeah mostly he wants to hear his own voice, not learn or debate. Made me laugh when I talked about encouraging all voting age folks to engage in their civic duty to vote, and his response was that basically everyone who doesn't vote is a likely pedophile, and therefore should not vote. Then he will post about people not arguing honestly. HAH! My man. Nutjob.
Anyway. The ideas:
Yes! afordable daycare and early education? Who pays for it and how do we assure the caregivers are qualified. Tax incentives to corporations? Or increased taxes on top earners to pay for it.
Yes! Thoughtful Family Leave provisions or subsidies to encourage working moms. Brainstorm. Like, what.
Yes! Thoughtful Living Wage laws to make work meaningful and not trap lower income workers in a cycle of dependence where they earn more by not working than if they work. Still how do you increase minimum wage without spurring that the inflated costs of labor are passed on to the consumer. Working folk already spend most of their wages, instead of investing or saving. They will bear the disproportinate burden if goods and services cost more. Unless you incentivize weath distribution at the highest levels. A tax break or hmm say you cap corporate profits or mandate that x% of corporate income be distributed to workers. Or they suffer a tax hit and that money serve as a subsidy for working families. You know: socialism. Come up with a word for it so people wont freak. Call it a Robin Hood disbursement. A Common Good disbursement. So the horses of capital pull the sleigh of civilization.
Yes! Large employer incentives for supporting working families. Maybe tax breaks for them if their employees are first time home buyers, or if their employees improve in tax brackets.
I mean we can find common ground to brainstorm. Without getting stuck on the personalities eitehr of any particular poster or of any particular politician they support. Or pretend to support. Or tolerate having prioritized one issue over another in their moral and econimic cost analysis.
Ok. Back to mostly ignoring this thread.

EDIT way too many typoes, but no time to fix. Hopefully the point is clear. Which is: "Let Stilldrop talk otherwise he's gonna splode something"
