Pushing all the chips to the middle of the table on this one. If we don't win - and win big - I'll be flabbergasted.

we don't play again until **** Thursday? Shucks, this team's finally ready to roll.. and now we'll be back to 'too many guys' (which, by the way, is and will be the issue -- more than who those particular guys are).

Wow quite a break. Good for a practice or two I suppose. Maybe Brown can heal. I hope we stick with the Smart, Kyrie, Tatum, Morris, Horford starting lineup featuring Hayward for 30 min off the bench. Seems to be working.

Too many guys won't be an issue if we have a fully operational Hayward and Irving to be the ballhandlers and playmakers for the team.

With the occasional assist by Smart/Hoford/Rozier.

You can tell by that water bath celebration, Hayward's breakout game FINALLY happening despite the entire season's worth of effort to try and have it happen each night is not only a relief to him...

it looks like a relief to the entire team.

Seems like if the good times start to roll for Hayward the entire team will have the monkey off it's back and can play a lot freer and a lot looser.

Perfect time to be back on track, with Lowry about to miss time with an injury and the Raptors schedule getting very tough (Nuggets, Sixers, Bucks, Clippers, Warriors), we'll be the 1 seed by Xmas. 8-)

We better beat the tar out of them this time. The last loss to NY was just pathetic.

Nothing got me more excited from last game than that end of game Hayward swing to face his man (Wiggins) and blow by him in an attack at the basket.

He wasn't fast doing it, but usually Hayward plays slow anyways so when he goes from super slow to just extremely slow the acceleration gets him to the basket.

He did it once, after seeing a few swishes of the threes, against one of the worst defenders in the league in Wiggins... I have to imagine similar opportunities will present themselves against this Knicks team.

One drive to the basket Hayward for a layup/dunk. 4 days off, confidence boosted. I feel like we could see it.

Him finishing an alley oop is an acceptable alternative. Even though that's more a power jump instead of a push off acceleration move. Either way these are the things you want to see him do and succeed in as a sign his body is responding and mentally he can start thinking that's a good option for him again.

What's funny is that the Knicks should be taking every opportunity to tank this season so they can get a high pick. Fizz has his team playing pretty hard though.

Win #4 incoming. Im expecting a massacre after our last game vs them.

Jaylen will look good and comfortable off the bench.

Do we see any changes to the starting lineup? I know we're on a roll but the numbers suggest Brown & Hayward being on the court at the same time haven't been great. Obviously with Hayward's play last game (and really the past few games), he's starting to look comfortable again.

I would like to see:

Irving / Smart / Hayward / Tatum / Horford starting with a bench of Brown, Morris, Rozier & Baynes rounding out the team. Smart looks terrific starting right now. Brown can play 30 mpg off the bench and be more of a focal point that way.

Thoughts?

I think that Hayward and Brown should stay on the Bench, for the time being.
Looking more toward Hayward coming back to the Starting Lineup, by the Playoffs.

Irving - Smart - Tatum - Morris - Horford
Rozier - Brown - Hayward - (Ojeleye/Theis) - Baynes

Baynes Starting depending upon Matchup.

Wanamaker - Yabusele - Williams

I think offensively Smart doesn't have a role in a lineup with Irving and Hayward on the court. His value offensively is solely ball handling and running plays.

Or rather, Smart's maximized offensive value.

Morris also has been our best scorer by true shooting percentage, and we have been playing at a high level offensively results wise. Or defense is slipping though, but the offensive increase has been dramatic and more than makes up for the drop off defensively.

So I wouldn't change the starting lineup yet. If Hayward suddenly proves he's back, the only change I would make is have him take Smart's starting role and run the offense instead of Smart.

But Hayward has only provided one game this year that would suggest his production demands he be in the starting lineup (last game).

Let's continue running the second unit with him being the focal point, and the punch off the bench if the starters need it (like last game in the first quarter he played that role although he wasn't anything special in it). Ideally he'll still work himself back into some consistency on offense and regular controlling of the offense back like he did when he played in Utah there. I have no worries on missing out and starting Hayward too late in the season, if Hayward is back his play will force him to be in the starting lineup...and Stevens will likely be on the early side jumping the gun for that if his track record on Hayward's minutes this year are any indication of the love affair between the two still being strong.
