Trolling on behalf of Marcin Gortat Thread

Post#1 » by Chocolate City Jordanaire » Fri Nov 30, 2018 8:25 am

I was right. Told you last season I had Gortat and his side over whatever else he said she said came up.

Haters go learn how bad the player Steven A. SMITH tries to denigrate ...is NOT. I saw parts of Clippers vs Kings.

The Wizards have been "running" the wrong players out for the worst reasons.

The Kings have tremendous talent.

They have THE COACH who docklinkin and I and Kevin Broom lauded years before EG f'd up on hiring others not nearly as good as Joerger. Cauley-Stein and Marvin Bagley Jr are fluid ATHLETES! Old ass Gortat was not overmatched because he's got OLD MAN GAME..

Which dunce cap wearing Mofos fail to adequately value until it's too late.

Ppl can hate on Gortat all they want, but he was one of the main reasons Wizards was in the playoffs after that 1st and Okafor trade.
He is declined that's understandable but still, you cannot replace solid production with a clown.

You must not be pointing this thread at wiz fans...cause we already know, knew and still love the Polish Hammer- when i saw trolling on behalf of Marcin I thought this was going to be a thread about how the women of LA love him and he has adjusted properly.

I like Gortat and appreciated him while he was here. But I also recognize that he had lost a step and there were significant chemistry issues going forward. We weren't going to trade Wall and keep Gortat, so the alternative was to trade Gortat.

This is not some unfair insult to Gortat. His skills had declined to the point where he as no longer a full time starter. It was reasonable to try and trade him and replace him. I thought the Dwight gambit was a pretty good gamble that could have worked out nicely. When Dwight actually played, he played well. I would have even been okay with just 50-60 games of Dwight instead of 82 of Gortat. Obviously, the gamble didn't pay off.

It turns out Gortat has found a nice home in LA and they have the luxury of playing him just 17 minutes a game where he can provide maximum energy. That's great for Gortat.

I’d have rather kept Gortat for another year. He’s declined significantly but he is available every night, rebounds and boxes out and sets good illegal screens.

Think about it, we would be a helluva a lot better off with Gortat over F’ing Rivers, the team dysfunction actually worsened after he left. Hindsight, I know.

Bear in mind that the Gortat for Rivers swap saved Ted about $3M in salary and luxtax fees - helping pay for Howard.

I wish I had an old, sick animal that I could offer to EG...for a nominal amount.

Would he buy a 12-yr old British bulldog that's maybe not quite as well as a puppy but full of spunk?

Replace Gortat at a price of Dwight Howard with his 2yr player's option deal. TRADE THE FIRST ROUND PICK that Brooklyn acquired in order to get young healthy Jarrett Allen...

:)

The sick puppy or dog troll:

https://sports.yahoo.com/sources-dwight-howard-undergo-surgery-161643196.html
Sources: Dwight Howard to undergo surgery

Damn shame that Gortat was such a downer blanketyblank in Wizards management assessment...

He is healthy.

He is starting for the Clippers and playing 15-18 minutes. THIS SEASON'S minutes for Gortat are way more than Howard's been on the floor for Ernie and Ted.

Such is life in the nation's capital..

Wall responded to a past tweet years back. (I'm proud of JW. He's a MAN! PHLUck basketball. He's working. Making his Moms and many others proud). So what about the Wizards and salary and BS.

I was HAPPY for Arenas getting his. Even after I posted for weeks just how injured he was and how idiotic it would be guaranteed 7 years if dude's body was already wrecked.

I loved that Marcin responded to my tweet a few weeks ago.

Who the hell knows or cares about petty bull arguments one way or the other? I do not.

The Wizards DESERVE THE MISSED OPPORTUNITY(ies) and misfortune(s).

They do it like Frank Sinatra sang "My Way". No consensus. Just us as in Ted and Ernie, I guess. Such hubris that they IGNORE years of free

Gucking Freat advice from ME and others...

Cool man.

Everyone eats ran it course after 10 games than Beal decided to be John Wall. Teams figured them out real quick.

No its not no one even talks about him unless a select few chooses to. He is not the difference between a championship team or the lotto. Just some random babble, old fools yelling at clowds.

CCJ, 100% with you. It’s not a coincidence our offense is completely broken without Gortat. He forced us to run actual plays.

Seems to be kind of great for the Clippers too, wouldn't you say? Plus, IMO, there are three things you're leaving out, nate.

1. Gortat's numbers are better with the Clips this year than with us last year. In fact, they are above his career average. He is extremely productive: .625 TS% & 13.5 boards per 40 minutes. Now... this is on 17 minutes a game, so he's playing less. But...

2. It's irrelevant that he's playing less. We traded Gortat straight up for a guy who is making the same salary as Marcin & is also expiring this year like Marcin. The difference is that he is nowhere near as productive as Marcin Gortat! Not in the same universe.

IOW, if the trade hadn't happened we'd have Gortat right now instead of Austin Rivers. We would be a better team without a doubt. Clearly, we are worse for having traded him.

3. It seems certain that he was traded b/c John Wall wanted him to be traded -- i.e. to improve team chemistry. But, the team's "chemistry" problems haven't gone away; if anything they seem to have gotten worse. IOW, trading Gortat did not bring that benefit.

In short, what benefit did the Wizards get by trading Gortat? None. Did trading him make us a worse team in the short run? Yes.

Any player can be traded. No one should be exempt. It's all a matter of what the deal is. In this case, the deal was terrible; the trade of Marcin Gortat was terrible. Like so many of Ernie's moves.

Straight up, Dat -- do Gortat's numbers look like those of a washed-up player? Or are his numbers irrelevant?
