I have Tatum & Fox as 1 and 2. But I’m going to go with Tatum due to his upside. I think he has the best career.

Vote: Tatum

Nominate: Markannen

Vote: JJJ
Nominate: Kawhi

I see Tatum and Fox as probably just as valuable as JJJ but he has more time on his contract. It's very close for me.

Haven’t watched JJJ very much, admittedly. Can he create his own shot like Tatum or Fox?

Yes. He is taking people off the dribble from the 3pt line, hitting shots over people, and it feels like there isn't a single designed play for him in the Grizzlies playbook to help get him easy points ha. He is able to post guys up in the paint and is getting good at positioning himself when he doesn't have the ball. His passing is decent as well for a center though definitely not elite. On the defensive end he has been able to really effect the game even guarding guards on the perimeter. JJJ's biggest weaknesses thus far are rebounding and foul trouble. The rebounding looks like something that is fixable since when he wants a rebound and is aggressive he usually is pretty good at getting it. The foul trouble should improve as he develops plus he gets rookie fouls called on him a decent bit. All that said, I have zero problem with people taking Tatum or Fox over him since both are studs. I haven't watched much Tatum this year and the only Fox I have watched was when he played Memphis (and looked great) so I'm probably biased.

That’s one of the more interesting questions. Who is more valuable? Markannen or Siakam?

I'm a Raptors fan but I'm going Siakam easy. Siakam is already an all-star caliber PF (he's 14th in the league in RPM, 17th in BPM and 10th in WS) and with his athleticism and only just starting to develop his shooting games (growing 3pt range, doesn't take any midrange yet) he could end up being a monster. The Raptors big 2 of Lowry and Kawhi is quickly becoming a big 3 of Lowry, Kawhi and Siakam. I haven't voted for him higher because I assume his value is underrated, but I assume he has more than Markannen

Forgive my ignorance but aren’t BPM and RPM subjective stats? Doesn’t who you are on the floor with carry a good bit of weight in those numbers? Haven’t their been other BPM stars that turned out not to be that good?

Not sure how win shares is calculated but it seems subjective as well. If you look at OWS for this year, you would think Capela was better than Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

I think it should be noted who Siakam is playing with the most versus who Markannen has played with.

Sorry but this is a little silly, being very efficient you're first twenty games of the season doesn't make you an all star, he's going to have to improve on his base stats of 15/6 to even get consideration. Lauri already put together a whole solid rookie campaign at 21, at that age Pascal was still in college than up and down in the G league a year later. I understand he came into the league raw but he's already 25, Lauri has multiple years left on his rookie contract and has already shown better rebounding and outside shooting at a much younger age. Pascal went from being very underrated to overated in a span of a week, let him keep his pace of play for at least a half of season befor labeling him a star.....

It's not just who you're on the floor with but how efficient you are. Just look at the names near Pascal when you talk about those categories, Sabonis, Vuc, even Plumlee is is near the top in ws. They all happen to take most their shots in and around the basket, that's why you see guys like Gobert and Capela always at the top. This is no knock on their talent, just that some stats will favor certain game types.

Market value only exists when two (or more) parties are in agreement.
