Marc Lamont Hill is an American writer and lecturer in communications at Temple University in Philadelphia, and also an analyst with CNN. In a speech last week at a United Nations conference he called for “international action that will give us what justice requires and that is a free Palestine from the river to the sea.”

How dare he? What was he thinking? Where did he think he’s living, in a democracy with free speech or a country where dialogue about Israel is under the serious censorship of the Jewish establishment and Israeli propaganda? Hill tried to claim that he’s opposed to racism and anti-Semitism and his remarks were intended to support the establishment of a binational, secular and democratic state.

What would have happened if Hill had called for the establishment of a Jewish state between the Jordan and the sea? He would have safely continued holding down his job. Rick Santorum, the former senator, said in 2012 that “no Palestinian” lives in the West Bank. Nobody thought of firing him. Even Hill’s critic, Shapiro, has called in the past for ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the territories (he backtracked on it a few years later) and nothing happened to him.

I don’t think they are silencing free speech. He’s free to speak anywhere he wants in the public square or in other venues that allow it. They made a corporate decision to separate from him for whatever reason. Maybe they feared a backlash from their Jewish viewers. I don’t really know.

Look...liberals...pause for a second. You simply dont know what you dont know.

pull yourselves back for just a second and hear me out. What do you want? I mean REALLY want?

Do you just want to bicker and argue and fight a zero sum game? Or do you want something???

If you want something...keep it simple...what do you want??

Money? Right? you want money. You do. And you want it for what exactly? For fairness of opportunity? Correct? That's what you want, right?

Guess what? I want that too. Popper does too. So does Nate. So does induveca. So does Daoneandonly. yes they do. they want that too. We all want that. A level playing field.

What you liberals have to come to understand is that successful people such as myself, Indu, Popper, and Nate know more about the obstacles in life than you. I really am a poor kid from the southside of chicago. My parents really were crack heads for decades. I really am a brown kid from a brown family. I have seen it all. Much more than likely all of you combined because the farther up the latter you get the more difficult the hurdles and hoops to jump through...until...you finally get to a certain level...once there you can see the entire field. And you can anticipate the hurdles because you know where they are.

So instead of "fighting with me." learn from me. I'm really here to help. . But the first step in learning from me is really shutting the phuck up...stop resisting... and start asking the right questions. There is nothing you are going to teach me...I cam from crack heads and now own tens of millions in real estate and tens of millions in dental businesses. You cant teach me anyhting. Ive covered the ground that you hope to cover. That you hope you children might cover. I've already covered it. learn from me. I'm smarter than you. I'm more talented. My girlfriend is hotter. etc etc. Get over it. accept it. And learn from me. I am happy to coach and help.

And most importantly, I know where their money is at. I know where they hide it. I know how they invest it. I know the back room deals they make to move it around so as to make it grow.

ask. and learn.
like i said, its a full rebuild.

absolutely...but lets say we got a 47 year old multi millionaire doctor of 20 years out on the street or in any given family...and that same doctor also owns a ton of businesses and a ton of real estate. And therefore knows a ton of investment bankers and other very very wealthy people and in fact was at penny Pritzker's house December 16th 2008 standing right next to barrack Obama and having long conversations with Arne Dunkin, Penny, and Rahm Emmanual...and this Doctor sits down with a 22-28 year old snot nosed liberal...who is going to be learning form who? I mean...I'm very open to learn something, anything. for example I still recall your recommendation to go with an outboard over an inboard so as I was at the Boat Show at Bahia Mar I purposefully sought out those dealers and asked a ton of questions. I'm a sponge when it comes to knoweldge. So i have soaked up a ton of information through the decades. I have a great memory. I am more than happy to share and to help.

I know you are STD. I also know you reentered this thread in good faith after a long absence and were immediately attacked. Only then did you adopt the same tactic. OTOH it would be more constructive if you could remain humble, fact check your retweets and remember that brevity is the soul of wit.

fair enough...and im with you on this...i would like the thread to move forward beyond the bickering.

but to do so we need to go backwards before we go forward.

1. we need liberals to go back...way back...and identify what liberals want...list them. Give us your top 10 needs (desires).

2. We need conservatives to do the same. list (y)our needs (desires).

3. Find common ground on these gripes.

4. then discover where, why and how we dont have common ground on some issues.

^^^but this wont happen. It can. but it wont. The next few posts from liberal will likely be a go nowhere spin on the mueller investigation to make trump look bad. Or negative political spin about caravan. Or a negative political spin about voter suppression. <--all tactics that previous liberal administrations have employed...when we say so and so did it too? "whataboutism." They just dont want to actually engage in a conversation. They just want to make trump look bad so as to rile up their own base and keep themselves motivated to get out the vote in 2020 and take back power and get back to their agenda of shipping jobs overseas and opening up our borders so as to oversaturate the unskilled labor market which supresses wages. So why are you asking me to engage in an actual conversation??? But i'll tell you what....lets give them a chance. Let's see if they finally want to talk. We''ll see how the thread goes over the next 2-3 days...if they stop. I'll stop. If they talk, converse...list their gripes we will listen and list our own gripes and let's see if we can brainstorm some common ground and move this thread forward. Nothing would make me happier. thats why i came to the show.
like i said, its a full rebuild.

I thought you were one of several that has called for STD to be banned. If that’s not accurate please correct me. Regarding delicate sensibilities, it’s not that gtn. It’s whether the time we engage one another here is constructive, enlightening, etc. or not. If we devolve into ad hominem attacks based on party affiliation then what’s the point of even having this thread? It would be nothing more than an insular progressive echo chamber. I don’t think you want that but maybe I’m wrong.

If you believe that your typical R leader, voter or conservative wants to solve problems with violence you are mistaken. I’m sure we can both name an individual or two on either side of the aisle that does, but they would be in the extreme minority.

sorry, when STD characterizes a change of dress code that dates back to the 1830's as the American government endorsing sharia law, how should it be received? with an open mind and a willingness to debate the merits of that argument?

or how about pushing the idea that we can build a border wall that can double as functional, marketable office space out of shipping containers?

and these aren't just cherrypicked, isolated incidents. it's pretty much the entirety of his posting identity. he just said that the American people "booted" Obama out of office.

even rejecting "snopes" as a "liberal" site is insane. there's zero proof that snopes is biased in any way. there's no debating any of this. the rot goes too deep.

none of his posting is useful. and to counter Doc's point about this forum being a release valve that would prevent a unibomber, that's not really how it works in a 21st century internet environment. realgm is not the tether to reality that SD needs because especially since he rejects reasonable discourse at every turn.

STD is unique in his idiocy. I've had good faith arguments with Da1andOnly and the Belarusian fellow. There as been zero such interactions with STD. There's no value add, and often, the conservatives on this board feel an obligation to defend him on this board out of solidarity (much like supporting Trump) when really his views are sincerely and overtly out of wack.

^^^^political spam^^^^^ lies. innuendo!!

sanctions were NEVER LIFTED and still in effect and even harsher today than when trump took office.

Trump Org never followed through with deal.

and the real rub...if Trump didn't win the presidency? Sanctions would NEVER be lifted by HRC!! If Trump did win (and he did BTW you can even fact check it with snopes) then he would never be able to do the deal as it would compromise him.

This issue is a non starter win or lose. Trump org. was pitched a proposal. Trump himself was even pitched on the idea of easing up sanctions with russia. So what! Sanctions were never eased...in fact...increased and made more harsh.

So this is spam. Its innuendo to the point that it is straight up lies. its arguing in bad faith. There's no there there. Nothing.

Donald Trump can be pitched the idea of burning california down to the ground tomorrow...and weigh the options...it doesn't matter...its what he actually does that matters. And Trump never eased up sanctions on russia in order to get personal gain.

The clinton's however? The obama's? the kerry's? Their entire middle east foreign policy is built around personal gain!! How is Bill Clinton was receiving a minimum of $500,000 per speech 3 years ago and almost nothing today? They cant even get people to show up when they give the tickets away for free!!! The stadiums are 90% empty!! Obama had 800 people show up for his speech last week!!! Trump is packing stadiums of 20,000 with another 20,000 outside!!!

The obama's, Clinton's, and kerry's built their middle east policy around a flood gate of personal gain. and worse...sold uranium via rosatom in kazahkstan to Putin!! And everyone knows it!!! The (liberal) NYtimes wrote a piece on it in 2015. And no part of the story has been redacted!!!
like i said, its a full rebuild.

you’re proving my point man. the second anyone goes in on your backwards views you dive into irrelevant pearl clutching nonsense.

why don’t you explain how you justify being a deficit hawk who supports the tax cuts. Everything Paul Ryan and Trump have done is contrary to all the high minded stuff neocons pretend they care about. the point i’m making is 1) you’re totally FOS along with basically all conservatives and 2) everything the GOP does is completely depraved and immoral and you shouldn’t be welcome in polite society
