Youngest team in the league, no franchise player, a bunch of expiring contracts who don't know if they will be with the team next season or not, a new coach and you are looking for a system that should have been running at full speed right now and making us look like the showtime Lakers? Yeah makes sense. I'm not preaching just patience with Fiz, I'm saying this whole process is still undergoing.

I wasn't aware young players got a break from you.

They either got it, or they don't.

Clearly they don't, and neither do the coach. This ain't the minor leagues, right?

The coach may very well suck and I never said he's good or anything like that. Honestly I wouldn't even care if they fired him today or tomorrow, it won't make a difference. We have issues with the roster and no system or coach is going to change it right now. My focus isn't on the coach right now, I'll shift to that when we get players who should be winning. This current group isn't good and are gonna lose no matter what, so really complaining about why they lost this way and not that way is pointless. But if it makes you feel better to vent about it then hey by all means do it, but I'm gonna challenge your logic and reasoning behind it. If that hurts your feelings, well I'm sorry?

No hurt feelings. Are yours hurt? They seem hurt.

The logic behind it would that it makes sense to establish a system, an actual effective way of playing on offense, and the accountability that goes with adhering to it, for the 1/2 the roster that will remain, even if every swinging johnson of them is a bench player. Then it's clear to KP, the new draftee and any FA (not that any are coming) what the expectations and style are.

If the team was just going to do the random sh*t Fiz is doing, which seems not very developmental as well, by the way, then they could have just saved a few bucks and rode out Jefe's contract. Since coaching doesn't matter right now.

Also, I'd agree coaching isn't THAT big a deal in the NBA. It's been posited by people smarter than me in the bball world that only a handful move the needle either in a good way or bad way; the rest are mostly there. Seemed like a lot of effort for "just there" sort of guy. It doesn't really matter to me, other than I'm in the process of pointing out it's apparent Fiz really isn't all that as a coach.

I mean, that's what we do here. Stake out opinions etc.

The disappointment is the knicks allow stuff like this to get leaked. What’s the benefit of that.

On Knox: he was playing fine and then hurt his ankle. Any judgement on him is ludicrous. Surely enough he drops 26 last night against Milwaukee.

On frank: it’s clear now frank doesn’t have the offensive skills to play PG but I don’t understand the logic in going crazy and trading him. Why trade the guy for nothing. It’s not like he is fulz where he is a distraction. He is 20. Let him develop. His upside is probably not what they hoped but at his size and length he can be a variety of things if he keeps developing, which at 20 isn’t that crazy to project. Everyone wants to jump to write the final chapter on everyone’s career under 2y in.

My comment is not to say frank hadn’t been disappointing. The team messed up not taking Donovan. But it’s done now and u gotta work with the present situation. Frank can be a versatile player. Trading him makes no sense.

The fan base needs to accept the state of the Knicks right now which is we will be in this developmental phase for probably years to come. They r not getting Durant or any other FA. This franchise has to overcome decades of mismanagement. Unless we nail draft picks the best course for the team is to “process” and focus on building a culture that develops young talent. Doing this nonsense like leaking ur “out” on two young players is absurd

Anyone expecting a system to be defined or fully in place isn't really wrong. I just think patience is key here. How'd having a system work out for us during any of the previous regimes? The one year we have been good in the last 20 was an ISO BALL SYSTEM. It turns out that without Kidd/Sheed/KT that system sucked the following year. How'd we look with the triangle? SSOL? It's also about talent and roster construction.

We have a lot of ISO players and weak defenders. The youngest group of them in the league. With a new HC and a bunch of reclamation projects to boot.

Right now, Fiz is trying to evaluate what players can do. What players are worth keeping. While also needing to up trade value on some if possible. That takes time. Once the dust clears from that, then we should see more system oriented play. I would hope that's sooner than later but, it could last up to the trade deadline.

All I know is, Fiz has gotten some good effort from a group of kids. Some solid wins. Some good and bad film to learn from. I'm not saying he's a great coach yet. I just not saying he's bad. If things stay like this all year...I'll have a less positive view on him to say the least.
