No complaints with him so far this year.

He's a bad coach who's been mostly fine this season. They've been injured a bunch so the rotations can't really do much.

Donovan will remain the coach until they miss they playoffs. As long as Russ can carry to him there he will stick around. As good and deep as the West is this year and with OKC's schedule going from very easy to very tough after the first of the year we'll see if OKC can build a cushion and hold it to make the playoffs this year. They SHOULD make the playoffs, but if Russ keeps missing half the games it is very possible they don't.

Unless that devil is PJ Carlesimo.

Remember when people wanted Tom Thibodeau when Brooks was fired? Lol!

Just check who is the real boss around here at this video on 0:36. We are in a Ty Lue situation here.

PG told us that in the off-season. He said that a big part of the reason he stayed was because Donovan lets him do whatever he wants on offense. That is why OKC will only go as far as the roster can carry them. They will always be against a better coached team, because Russ and PG are not quality coaches! The underlying question will continue to be is a Donovan issue or a Presti issue. Did Presti tell Brooks and Donovan not to coach the players? Did Presti just intentionally hire coaches who would let his players do whatever they wanted?

Pops does this all the time.

Man i have no clue you dont even have to be a good coach to know to stay with the hot hand it seem like everything time Diallo,Burton,Fegurson and even Nadar tonight make a few good plays he takes them out and put in Abrines or Schroeder who could hit a shot or defend anyone. How are those guys supposed to build confidence? I dont know how they are doing as good as they are.

I've been as big critic of Donovan as any, but the team is doing fine after the bad start to the season.

His rotations have been better than they have been in the past and the defense is still holding up, so I have to be fair and give him credit. I'm curious to see what happens when the schedule picks up, but I doubt he is any danger regardless of what happens going forward. He has job security as long as the main guys on the team still love playing for him.

Yeah, I don’t see Donovan on the hot seat anytime soon.

Naysayers have very little evidence that Donovan is a bad coach. Even with the “evidence” some think to have that Donovan is a bad coach can be refuted.

I have. Multiple times. Some people just think Donovan should approach our team like a Popovich would.

No you haven't, I even threw you the 'what does Donovan do well in your opinion' softball multiple times last season and you never responded.

Well I apologize if I’ve never refuted you specifically, but I have addressed that in other threads. I specifically talked about what he does well a couple of seasons ago.

Utilization of players.

Designing effective plays for our guys to run.

Player development.

Team defense.

Just thought he’s always been held back by weird roster construction and “periods of development.”

Frankly, he hasn't changed much. He hasn't had the opportunity to tinker with lineups because guys are hurt. He's the same he's always been mostly. Offense is the same, defense seems improved without Melo but the scheme hasn't drastically changed (some small pick and roll stuff here and there but not a big change and not all the time). He's largely still the same poor coach who hasn't screwed up as much.

He's a great defensive coach. He doesnt coach offensive, because he has no offensive players to make plays for. PG told him to never run plays for him. WB has said in the past he hates play books and likes to play in the flow. Donovan needs to keep this team in check defensively and hope WB gets back to normal, because if he does, he can easily carry the offense himself.
