It’s a shame his lack of defense and ability to play within a modern system will be his doom. He’s a legend in the era before this one tho.
He was one of the most gifted and versatile offensive forwards in the game, he could have fit into any system but his problem is between the ears. For whatever reason his presence was a cancer to any team and it had nothing to do with being liked by his teammates because he was liked. He's such a cancer that even his stans who show up to defend him are cancers.

Yes, it goes beyond this season. Hoiberg just is not a good coach. Similar to Jeff Hornacek. They decided to cut bait now rather than have him continue to influence the young guys while they prep for the upcoming draft.

The Bulls are doing it right. They're properly de-constructing the coaching staff and clearing the decks in preparation of drafting the guy that they're going to rebuild around.
The Knicks are NOT sure, they are making KP the centerpiece of their franchise. It's this amalgam of contradicting ideas: Let's rebuild. Wait, sign Count Chuckaway Jr. Let's develop Frank Ntilikina as a priority. Trade for Mudiay. Let's develop Mitchell Robinson. Start Enes Kanter. Let's develop Kevin Knox and Dotson. Let's sign and start Hezonja.

You have a few points but I don’t think there is necessarily a “right” way. If there was, how would that account for teams like the Kings being perpetually bad despite lottery pick after pick? Good management/ownership is more of a variable in the success of a team despite where they pick. Take the Jazz for example. That is such a well run franchise and they are rarely amongst the NBA’s worst teams. As for the Knicks, Mudiay was worth the gamble for what we gave up. If you want to use the pg situation as an example than that would apply to Trey. It’s clear that nobody is really sure what Frank is yet. That’s more on Frank than it is the coach. Mitch gets all the minutes he can handle at this point. He cannot play without fouling at a high rate, but he’s getting minutes. Knox it’s entirely too early to tell being he was injured. But Knox will get every opportunity to start before the season is finished.

Similar to the Knicks, the Kings have sabotaged themselves many times. Outside of the 2018 NBA draft, the last time the Kings have drafted in top 3 was 1991, Billy Owens.
Look at their draft history, they've drafted better than the Knicks. WAY better.

Guys and gals - I have some important news: The Jim Boylan that now coaches the Bulls is different from the Jim Boylan that used to coach the Bulls. Use this information wisely.

Bulls screwed up. There's a problem with that team and it starts with Garpax. Maybe their useless owner, but can't do much about that.

He was a strange one, because he was originally a defensive stopper with no offense with the Pacers. Then he kept working on his offensive game and turned into the exact opposite.

That would be because this Jim Boylen is Jim Boylen and not Jim Boylan?
