Was just checking out the roster, and the offense is gonna remain stacked next year. We lose Taj and a couple OL, but all of the rotation skill players are back. Hopefully Parker Boudreaux can step in and make his presence felt.

Big losses on D....most of the D-line graduates, along with Pat J. Have some big time recruits in Gilyard and Charlton waiting in the wings to help fill the void.

Lose both Wright and Loudermilk to graduation. Where are we gonna find another punter with swag?

What happens 1st? College Football expands or UCF gets into power 5 conference? I definitely think both happen eventually one day.

I think we move conferences (which I put at less than 1% chance) before we ever sniff a playoff spot without substantial changes to the ranking system.

Danny White should have gone full rogue and turned down the Fiesta invite for a Citrus Bowl slot instead. Same level of competition, with no risk of not selling out ticket allocation.

I kinda disagree with that. If we played in the Citrus Bowl instead of the Fiesta bowl and we played either Penn State or Kentucky(Penn St vs Kentucky is Citrus bowl matchup) who have the same exact record as LSU (9 and 3), LSU is a little better team than Penn State and Kentucky. Between LSU, Penn State and Kentucky, LSU is the best opponent.

Eh. I think the risks and negatives from that move would outweigh any publicity we'd get for sticking it to the CFP Committee. It'd be a baller move, but I think it'd be reckless.

I think expansion.

If it was on the 29th I'd go, but work makes it too difficult for me to justify those expenses. My wife (who has no interest in football, sadly) actually turned to me last night and told me she almost bought the tickets as a surprise but wasn't sure because of my work schedule. I would've loved to have gone, but i'm glad she held off because a) it's expensive, and b) work reasons.

Interesting point from Marc Daniels on the radio just now. If we expanded to 8 with the p5 champions guaranteed and 3 at large bids, UCF wouldn't have gotten in without the top ranked G5 team being guaranteed a spot as well.

I don't think the playoff will expand anytime soon.

It will take the Big 10 or Big 12 getting shutout for 3-4 years in a row with a legitimate gripe before there's any movement towards playoff expansion IMO.

And that’s what worries me about expansion. They’ll always try to exclude anyone not in the club.

I haven't heard anyone bring this up on here, facebook, twitter, radio, etc but if we were to win our bowl game and Oklahoma wins the national title that we would finish as the only undefeated team again through the bowl game. Very unlikely for all that to happen as Alabama is the strong favorite but just throwing it out there. Plus if we did lose the bowl game, We still have the undefeated streak for the regular season/ conference championship game except for the bowl game.

Nice flip for UCF. Top 60 graded HS OT on 24/7.

Yeah, and he's not wrong (he's rarely wrong, which is why he's outstanding).

I really think we would get into a 'Power 5' before the playoff expansion kicks in. I do believe it's something we should start pushing. The AAC still doesn't fully have our back (Aresco is finally saying stuff but that man is lacking testicular fortitude).

Even though Florida beat LSU, I still consider LSU the better team of the two. Still, I really hate not being back in the Peach Bowl. LSU-Michigan have never met, and the Florida-UCF matchup would bring that state intrigue. I don't care what their AD says, UF ducked us. Michigan being ranked above us had no bearing. The Peach Bowl wanted us back again (and why wouldn't they, they made a ton of money off us, a lot more than from Auburn folks). Gator head coach also ranked UCF 11th in his final coaches poll. Come on guy.

I hope we buy up our entire Fiesta Bowl allotment fairly quickly. I'll be curious to know how quickly LSU buys up theirs. If flights can drop down to about $500, I could talk myself into going if we don't sell our allotment out. January 1st instead of December 29th this year is a huge bummer. Last year was a 4-day weekend if I remember correctly (Atlanta trip was a blast, and that win against Auburn was the cherry on top). This time I have to work that Monday December 31st and then work Wednesday January 2nd unless I take days off or choose to work remotely. But right now flights are ridiculous, and that's not even having to factor in hotel etc.

Flights are crazy... I ended up spending more ($50) to make it a two stop trip (3 days in Phoenix and 3 in another city) to make the expense a little more palatable. I have zero desire to spend a week in that city.

Odd fickle didn’t make this list lol

I’d probably say UAB or Army’s coach deserve it most.

Not sure if it's intentional, but it looks like they didn't pick more than one from a single conference, so that may be why Fickle didn't make it.

I can't believe Fickell got AAC coach of the year. Yes he did a great job this year but did he take over a previously undefeated AAC championship team and maintained that and won ANOTHER one?

My thought was 5 P5 Conference champs. Best from G6 with the caveat they must have won their conference and finish in the top 20. 2 at large. This allows everyone in the FBS a reasonable path to the playoffs without adding too many games. It also gives the conference championship games even more value.

I thought Devin White wasn't going to play and than he announced that he is. But still LSU has more players than 1 guy.
