Re: RJ Barrett
I still don't understand the DD comparison. I never saw DeRozan play in college, but I just don't see the similarities between their games.
Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

Iggy Brazdeikis might be the better Canadian ncaa freshman right now. He's certainly more efficient. Barrett is a better play maker (when he wants to be).

I always took it as a score 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and "I can always get a look no matter what" mentality they both can play with at times. It's not necessarily winning basketball despite the numbers.
I'm sure Clyde can correct me if i'm wrong though.

His comparison has always been Kobe. Never DeRozan

Kobe without the athleticism or skill, sure.

Extremely similar athletically. Less finesse based, more power/brute strength.
Much more talented & skilled than Kobe was at his age.

Iggy Braz is having a nice season so far. Not sure how he translates though. Seems too unathletic to me.

Yeah it took a few years for Kobe to become a decent three-point shooter. He was much more known for his slashing/athleticism (e.g. winning the dunk contest) at first.

Completely disagree with everything you said besides being less finesse based. Kobe was much more athletic with his wiggle and finishing in traffic. RJ’s main skill is bullying players, and being a reluctant passer. That’s it.
This RJ:Kobe comparison is crap.

None of this is true. RJ is closer to Wiggins than he is to Kobe.

He's much, much, much more aggressive than Wiggins. Obviously doesn't have Wiggins' athleticism.

Was gonna expand on my original post before but scrapped it. But yeah, I would say that I think RJ's best comp is a less athletic, higher motor Wiggins. Good athlete in open space, but not really functional in the half court. Average at best handles, relies on length/strength to get in the paint. Can't really shoot, yet has terrible shot selection. Is generally a defensive liability(though Barrett can change this narrative). The one area RJ stands apart from Wiggins is as a passer, but his selfishness sort of negates that as an attribute. I am not forecasting RJ as a bust, but I don't see a very high ceiling for him either and there are a lot of red flags.

I'm with you on RJ but I might not be as low. I thought for the longest time he was overrated but I think he actually has started to become underrated a bit in some capacities. Make no mistake about it, dude is going to be a very good scorer in the NBA. My biggest question marks with him have already been court vision and BBIQ and his tendencies to turn into a black hole on offense.
Right now I think I have him on the lower end of the top 10 but I think there's room to move up if he corrects some things.

So your best comparison is a player that you just created, cause based on what you said he's nothing like Wiggins. You are only comparing the two because they are two Canadian prospects with hype.

Nice. I believe in this player.
