Defensive intensity always wanes when teams continually come up empty on the offensive end.

That Carroll and-one was a semi-generous call, even more so when you watched Brooklyn get away with similar contact on "verticality" on our next two possessions.

Much needed 3 by Westbrook who shot it in rhythm of the game. God bless Westbrook.

Carroll getting some superstar BS calls in the few minutes I've seen.

What is it about the Nets that makes us always struggle against them?

I don't get it. We're getting blown the **** out by a really bad team.

If we’re are going to play Abrines, could be at least get him some three point shots? He’s basically worthless if we don’t get him some looks.

They aren't going to miss, apparently.

I'm done. This one is over.

Why do we always have to play dumb offense when we are losing?

We’ve been trying to but he’s been guarded pretty well.

this is normalcy for the westbrook-schroder lineups. can't defend, and one of them is useless on offense.

Remember that when he finishes the game something like 3-13 from 3. If only he had the BBIQ of Ben Simmons who understands that when you can't shoot 3s you don't. It would also have been acceptable for him to be like LeBron and learned how to go from a bad 3pt shooter to a decent one. LeBron shot 32% from 3 on 4 attempts a game his first 5 seasons. From his 6th season through yesterday he has shot 35% on 4 attempts per game. Russ has never had a 3 year stretch where he shot more than 32.2% from 3! By comparison, Russ in his first 5 seasons shot 30% on 2 three point attempts per game and from his 6th season through yesterday has shot 31% on 5 attempts per game. LeBron increased his percentage and didn't increase his shooting. Russ shot the same and over double his rate!!!

That is going to be a tough second half.

I really liked out defense in the first quarter, then I missed the first half of the second quarter and we are behind almost 20, amazing.
On offense, we are not able to run one play that works, against a honestly well-coached Nets team, that is just bad.

99 DRtG on the season so far, but can't defend.

Like clockwork. Can't you create a separate thread for opportunistic bull like this instead of spamming threads people use?

No one has ever beaten the concept of team ball into Russ' thick skull. He still thinks he should play 1 on 5.

we will see who is correct in the long run. a lot of what the team is doing on defense seems unsustainable especially with the westbrook-schroder player pair. they'll still be good on defense of course with george and adams but i predict a collapse similar to last year's celtics when they started out this hot. and that'll hurt if the offense doesn't improve some.

This feels a liitle bit like the losses to Dallas and Denver btw. The other team makes shots and we can't answer and then our defense approaches our offense's level.

Let's see what they do in the 2nd half. The Nets are horrible. This is still very much winnable.
