I'm happy for Jules doing well even if its not with us, at the same time this is the first time in a while our front office has a coherent vision for how they want to play basketball even if unfortunately a Julius type player never fits into it. They clearly have a type for big man, which is low usage, high defensive impact and energy and they are sticking to it. You cannot fault the plan.

The decision will really come down to who we get this summer. Even then Randle is entering his prime, so it better be someone worth it.

You're kind of missing the point. No matter who comes in the summer, the new front office has placed a marker down and said this is not going to be our basketball philosophy no matter how good this guy is at doing his thing.

I disagree with this notion. Especially when you consider the fron office tried going small at the 5 to start the season. If anything Randle's elite ability to score in the paint is more of the same with what we are already doing. Chandler was just a desperate need defensively, not the plan going into the season. The plan has always been, keep a max slot open to get that second star next summer.

They could have gotten Lopez for the same money they offered McGee but they went with McGee, according to Lowe they consciously made decisions on the roster thinking that the buyout market would help add another center of the same type. So yes they have a type. They want the center to block shots, rim run and be a lob threat without touching the ball too much otherwise.

LeBron is far right, and Ingram is far left. Also look at where klay Thompson is. I would not Max klay.

I think we had to make a decision on the balance of the team. Randle is a lot like Bron and Ingram in that they need to have the ball to be effective. Randle's unique ability to get his points off his ball handling skills overlaps significantly with Ingram and Bron. It seems like a "fit" move (or non move) more than anything else. Add to that the little thing about long term deals and max slots.

I would also add in spite of his stats the overall impact is his signing in NO hasn't seemed to move the needle on their win total.

Everyone who was behind drafting and scouting Fultz should be fired immediately. His weaknesses were extremely obvious.

I don’t think anyone could’ve or did predict the mental/shoulder issues that caused an unprecedented deterioration of his shooting stroke.

Ty told them so. They should’ve listened to Ty. I know I do.

Randle is slacking. Only 22 points and 9 boards in the first half.

He's played 4 seasons. Weird to phrase the story of his career as if he's a 15 year vet. Randle was a key reason why the Lakers were sometimes okay last year defensively last year, making your point as if this is part of a long career arc even odder.

Right now he has 25 and 16 in 31 minutes with his team blowing out the Mavs. Story of his career.

He's even developing his three nicely. That's ok. We have cap space to resign him this summer. Lol

Popovich should get the hell out and retire. This game gave you so much, be gone.

Yeah, he should stop whining. Brent will be their next coach is my guess. In a couple of years...

I guess I'm not sure what whining is. Does anyone think Pop is wrong here?
