Anyway we are back two years ago when some poeple were hoping for tough players to join this squad after the run in play offs against the Heat.
This is something which is needed, couple of players who can step up defensively, who foul when they have to. With good old school fouls. Hard fouls (i dont mean injuring players, but c'mon..). I can live with a few more technicals, that's much better than seeing all those heads looking down after an avoidable lay up/dunks from a simple dribble/drive or from an off board/dunk.
Lamb's scoring was just an illusion here, as long as other guards torch the team. And you can add all the pf/c with a decent outside shoot. Borrego's play style might work with a good roster, but right now he badly needs to find solutions defensively because this is what is killing this team. Having a second reliable option might just delay the result, as if you can't get any stop in the 4th, well...
Our 1st and 2nd best perimeter defenders at the guard position are Lamb and Kemba. Let that sink in.
Our 2nd unit back court is Parker/Monk.
The defensive problem was obvious and the front office should have addressed it in the offseason. Signing Parker to be our backup point guard when we were committed to developing Monk was still a bad move.
