Anyway, Linux + Firefox + Ublock Origin + NoScript makes this site just a breeze on PC. Never had a whiff of any issues, except having to enable scripting by jsdeliver for and-1's, and clicking through to view tweets. No CPU/ram hogging at all, even after extended browsing.
On mobile: android + Opera Mini, with no addons whatsoever, has worked pretty well. Small, easily ignorable ads on top and bottom. Get a security alert when first loading the site, which I ignore because I never log in on mobile, so that may not work for everyone.
I've used Mint, along with a bunch of other Linux flavors, and also a ton of Ubuntu derivatives.
I created my own, for 1 distro.
I'm so used to using Google Products. But, I'll have to try that combo, Linux + Firefox + Ublock Origin + NoScript.

I've always been wary about the Google ecosystem. I just looked up browser market share and was stunned to see how aggressively Google has cornered the market since the last time I was paying attention. Had no idea Firefox had become such an endangered species:Spoiler:
Ubuntu is used for a lot of things in the Real World, that you'd surprised about.
I.e.: The MBTA's (Transit System), Camera System is run by Ubuntu.
Google is a very eclectic company.
They are actually credited with putting the first graphics, on the Internet.
