When people talk about players who automatically make a team contenders it feels like they always say the following: Lebron, KD & Steph

But what about Kawhi? Is he not the 4th best player in the NBA? Where does the RealGM Knicks fan base rank him? As far as impact is concerned I have him above the likes of: Harden, Westbrook, Davis, Giannis and Embiid

Kawhi in MSG would be a dream come true. Even those he is quiet, shy and awkward he seems like he would have what it takes to embrace the challenge.

Imagine a front line of Kawhi-KP-Mitch with Knox off the bench? Or what about if we went small with Kawhi-Knox-Mitch running and stunning

Imagine you watched last night's game too, saying to buds if you're starting a franchise today, you're picking AD or Kawhi. Would take him over KD any day of week.

Dude is damn good, makes everything seem too easy and apparently he's still rusty.

How about we give them each a day?
AD on Mondays

Kawhi Wednesdays

and KD for Friday night jinx games?

It’s why all these guys in my mind are replaceable in my eyes on the Knicks. We are never getting a scoring GOD again.

The fact that stats say Harden is better than Kobe...

FOH

The league got taken over by nerds who can’t play basketball. This **** is far less entertaining than it used to be.

In this new league, all of the icons would be seen as expendable.

The Warriors have the best shooter in the history of the league and probably the second best too.

...and even they needed an iso scorer to fuq with LeBron.

...and the nerds are the ones making these formulas up in offices.

They're 8th (?) in isolation attempts and 3rd (?) in mid range attempts.

If these "nerds" are making basketball more efficient, and IMO more fun to watch (way more passing and ball/player movement, less iso-heavy players and offenses, etc), then sign me up. Then again, I guess I might be classified as a "nerd" with basketball history, so maybe I don't fit the mold.

TBH, the article really didn't mention Melo much - was more about the death of the mid-range due to the inefficient nature of the shot. Plus, it's Kirk Goldsberry - happy to have him back on Twitter now that he's not working with the Spurs.

Did you guys read the actual article, or are you simply assuming things due to the link description?

I personally like iso basketball more.

I don’t like bums getting to shoot

Good article about death of mid range and most importantly, Melo being the last of the MJ type player. His peers have adapted, he has not and that's the end of it.

Hated the Melo trade when it happened, hated PJax resigning him but feel sorry for the guy bc he's getting a bad rap, unfortunately stats are showing why and it's really hard to wrap my mind around how 1 player can have such an effect on a team. It's a shame and an end of an era

It is. People already know I feel like his effect on a team is really overrated due to BS narratives. He’s not the first and won’t be the last player this will happen too.

Side note: Pop seems really annoyed with the state of the NBA. That’s sad too.

Those post and mid-range monsters were a thing of beauty.
