So I don't know if the Wolves are happy with this trade.

But it's looking like Rockets picks would have been lottery picks much sooner than expected.

In fact the Rockets pick in the next draft may be a low lottery pick.

Stuck with CP3s horrible contract, they may not be able to fix themselves any time soon.

Could 4 lottery picks from Houston have been worth it? Though you figure they'd at least have been top-5 protected.

I would think a Rockets team with Jimmy Butler would be better than the Rockets team now, but who knows. Either way, I like the trade we did pull off and the way our team has been playing since then.

Wolves have been playing great since the trade. Something like 8-3 while playing great D.

I don’t think hunk you out can and look at the Rockets (w/o Butler) and compare them to the Rockets (w/ Butler) because they would have been adding a very talented player who wouldn’t be helping the value of those picks.

RoCo and Saric are having a very positive impact on this squad though. I’m not sure anyone expected this.

Rockets with Jimmy wouldn't be in this position....they would definitely reach playoffs with Jimmy... a Harden-CP3(despite decline he still has positive impact on team),Jimmy team won't fail to reach playoffs in next 5 years(if Jimmy would have re-signed with Rockets)...so yeah, it would have been basically late first round picks...KAT is the main guy for Wolves...we have him signed till 2023..so our goal is to maximize the talent around him and having right players to surround KAT...RoCo & Saric are perfect players to have in same team as KAT..moreover RoCo's contract is one of the best in the league and he is signed through 2022.

Whistling zippity doo dah out of our assh*les happy.

Jimmy didn't want to be here, and after pages and pages of who has "leverage," debates we couldn't have done much better.
Even if we don't make the PO's, we still have two players that fit this team much better than the several players we traded away.
Dunn+ LaVine + pick (LM) for Butler+pick (JP) flipped JB and Patton for Roco + Saric + Bayless and a second. Contract friendly and may be able to get something out of Bayless.

I bet you could get those 4 Houston firsts for Robert Covington right now. He's exactly who they need and we got him. Funny that Covington first entered the league in Houston undrafted back when Houston was winning over 60 games a season and there was no room for him there at the time.

I thought it seemed (don't follow Minn much) Minn had been playing a lot better since the Butler trade so I looked at it a little more in-depth , the last 10 games they have played three teams with winning records and have lost all three quite handily I see. It looks like Minnesota has played a lot more home games than away games..... this will of course even out throughout the course of the year. Minnesota won 47 games last year if I am not mistaken and likely would have won 52 or 53 if Butler had not got hurt late in the year. With the schedule evening out as far as home games and away games are concerned , I really can't see Minnesota winning more than 39 or 40 games this year. The team that ends up getting the star gets the better end of the deal, let's not pretend Robert Covington or Dario are even near the level of player Jimmy Butler is.

Its a bad beat for the Wolves. Just too many losing seasons, fans would nt be able to take another 5 year rebuild. It also says to Towns and other veterans, that winning is down the road.

None of us know the protections, or the impact Jimmy Butler would have on the Rockets.

Why on earth would we want loterry picks lol

That just sounds like a lot of angst and losing seasons that has already had enough of those in recent memory

All of them were literally lottery protected, it was a joke of an offer.
