2019 NBA Draft thread
I would highly recommend keeping an eye on the Auburn bigs — Chuma Okeke and Austin Wiley. They can be had late in the first and replace some of Patterson or Noel’s productivity if Noel decides to opt out.
Edit: after further evaluation, Wiley won’t be a first rounder. He’s Kyle Anderson slow. Keep an eye on Okeke.

Yeah Wiley to me is a Dakari Johnson type player if we are going to take a C in the 1st round keep an eye out for Moses Brown 7'2 with a huge winspan offense game needs some work but is is blocking shots at a hight rate.

Yes! I love Moses Brown. He just needs to get a little stronger and he will be beast. He has a lot of craftiness to his game too for a 5.
I’ve been eyeing Simi $hittu as well. If he’s there when we pick, I can see Presti rolling with him and making moves accordingly.
second unit:
Schroder — Abrines — George — $hittu — ??? (hopefully we can keep Noel)

Yeah i think $hittu will be a great pick.I think this draft is reall deep hope we can get a few more pick some how.I dont see us being able to keep Noel unless he just really wants to stay but Tyler Davis has been really good this year in the G leauge so hopefully he can step in and be a decent backup C.

Guy's a lotto caliber talent
I just find it weird that I haven’t seen him in many mocks. Maybe I haven’t been looking at enough mocks lol.

I was thinking the same thing, although the other day I did see him listed 27th on ESPN's big board. Not the most reputable source I know, but just affirmation that his stock has been rising.
By season's end, once the more hyped freshman start to fade and he gets more exposure, I really can't see him going outside the lotto. He's already really skilled offensively at this stage, and he only just turned 18 a week ago. If he continues to grow into his body and develops better conditioning, watch out

The homer in me and where he's likely drafted still wants Josh Reaves.

It’s hard for me to get too excited about draft picks because it’s so early. If I like a guy in our range and he improves, he likely goes higher. That being said, isn’t this draft supposed to be really weak?

Idk what it’s supposed to be, but from what I’ve seen, there’s not a ton to get excited about outside of the Duke 3. It feels like a weird draft.

Re: 2019 NBA Draft thread
Yeah they said it was a weak draft and it is to early to really know but there has been alot of guys come out of nowhere that look really good but who knows.Even alot of guys that they are saying late 2nd rounds like Shamorie Ponds is scoring something like 25 point a game and 5 assist. This draft looks really good to me.ThunderBolt wrote:It’s hard for me to get too excited about draft picks because it’s so early. He would be a really nice pick up, in my opinion. I think we are going to be picking between 26-30th and I can see how Ponds can be a sneaky solid pickup. He’s a smart player who is a little bit slept on because of his age and less-than-stellar 3-pt numbers and conference numbers.
On a SOS of 10+ last season, he was > 50% on ~12 FGA per game (37 mpg).
He’s a good FT shooter (85%).
He’s a decent rebounder for a point (5 boards a game).
His defense would be really solid on our second unit. He’s averaging 2.6 steals per game this year, and he averaged 2.3 last year. And his advanced numbers don’t look bad on offense. He can guard a second string point.
He’s averaging about 4.5 assists per game over last couple of years as well.
His 3P shot is better than people think, in my opinion:
1st season: 37.5% on 6.1 3PA/g.
2nd season: 25.3% on 6.2 3PA/g.
This season: 35.7% on 5.3 3PA/g.
He’s the kind of guy that can be the 3rd best player on your second unit, in my opinion.
If the plan is to trade Schroder at draft time or next year, I can definitely see Presti liking Ponds to fill that hole.

Re: 2019 NBA Draft thread
I’m really starting to think P.J. Washington is their guy they are targeting. I hope no one that picks before us is super high on him.
He’s a bit of a 3/4 tweener who projects to be a solid defender and can shoot. He definitely projects to be a 4 in the NBA and therein lies the problem. Not a good look to be a 6’6-6’7 power forward in today’s league. If he lands in our lap, I will celebrate with a bottle of Blanton’s.

He is ineligible for Presti's draft board. The ability to shoot gets your name banned from their prospect tracking database so the scouts do not trick Presti into drafting a shooter. Washington will go in the top 20, if not top 15, which makes it unlikely that OKC has a shot at him. Although, if you take out Phoenix OKC is 6-8 against the West so they could miss the playoffs and just pass on Washington for some long-term project who can't shoot.

Yes. Hoard is very much in the mold of a Presti player. He's currently shooting 28% from 3 and 64% from the line. He should be there when OKC picks. Reminds me a bit of Jerami Grant. More of a centers game, but trapped in more of a SF body. I could see Presti picking him to try to be the backup PF/C next year with Noel most likely gone and Patterson probably gone.

Watching some highlights he seems to be more capable of creating with the ball than grant was at that age. He somewhat looks like a cross between Diallo and Grant. His shot release looks a little low to me. Hes gun some guns for a kid his age. They look bigger than his quads. Definitely athletic.
I don't even look at who the best player available is anymore. I just look for athletes and try to get myself excited because presti has conditioned me. I hate myself.

Presti about to shock y’all with the team he is about to put together. Just watch him work his magic.

Robert Franks would be nice for the thunder should be around in the 2nd round. He can play the 2 to 4 position at 6'9 and is a really good Rebounder and can stroke the 3 ball at a high rate.
