Lol at needing a new coach.
Embiid got embarrassed by Val and reacted by blaming lack of post touches.
Our franchise player is a diva. Might have Tim Duncan talent but doesn’t appear to have the same leadership.

Re: Joel Embiid - The Prophecy is Realized
This conversation is simply stupid.
Embiid is amongst the tops in the league in possessions and freq in post ups...on top of having the 5th highest usage rate in the NBA. (tied with Giannis at 32.2)
Sure id like to see Embiid pound the ball in the post some more, but he also has always loved the jumper and face up game....lets not act like were throwing Shaq out on the 3PT line and trying to make him something he is not.

If Butler was saying things like there would be a different narrative
Weird comments to be honest. I honestly feel like he's been in the post a ton since the trade. Plus, there's been so many Ben/Jimmy lineups and Jo/Redick lines ups. Joel got destroyed at the beginning of the fourth against Toronto when it was him and four shooters I believe

So far so bad

He needs to find some excuses for his horrible performance recently and he choose the worst one. Just plain and simple.

If Embiid wants to complain about something offensively (which he shouldn’t) then it should be about not getting the ball on the move enough. Static post up offence is so easy to plan against.

A friend and I were talking last week about how Jojo hasn't been resting enough this season and there's noway he should be leading the centers in minutes. I told him that while Brett Brown is going to get blamed for it, he understands his players and how they work. It's a players league and I guarantee Jojo is in his ear telling him not to dare bench him (especially in pursuit of his MVP award). Brett in turn, knowing a guy like Jojo can lose focus and cause discord when he's not getting his way with things like playtime, surely allowed him to do this with the caveat that when it started affecting his play he'd pull the plug. It clearly has, the plug has been pulled, yet this is how Jojo chooses to react and I'm disappointed.
The whole point of another star is so they can take some pressure off you man, so you don't have to bang in the post every possession and you can stay fresh.

Love Jo but when the team is 9-2 since the trade you should probably just keep quiet and go with it. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s more worried about getting his mvp awards instead of seeing how much better the team is playing

all he said is the truth. is he used perfectly? nah. hes 7'2 and is shooting over 4 3's per game, because our PG cant shoot.
So he’s mad about Ben?
I think that's the hidden message in his whining, yes.

We have three divas. Only two really deserve to be. But it's rare to find a player drafted very high that isn't.
Duncan was a once in a lifetime guy. I don't think it's fair to compare anyone to Duncan. (Who btw, had no excuse coming back for his senior season. Should have been a Sixer.)

And I will be critical of the other divas if they start complaining in the media about offensive touches

Embiid is not a good fit with Simmons in general, but with Simmons + Butler even less. I think, as other posters said, we should decide if we build around Embiid or if we build around Simmons. Their games are like opposite, Embiid needs to slow down the game to post up, while Simmons wants fast pace, especially in transition. Embiid can't operate in the post with ideal success with Simmons clogging the paint, while Simmons would benefit from a better shooter than what Embiid is.
In reality, what Kobblehead said is looking better, Towns would be a perfect fit with Simmons. And I obviously prefer Embiid to Simmons, but it is what it is.

Simmons isn't worth building around until he gets a jumper and a 3 pointer.Bum Adebayo wrote:Embiid is not a good fit with Simmons in general, but with Simmons + Butler even less. This is fair and you may be right, having a guy like Kemba instead of Simmons would be an example.

The Sixers are 2nd in the conference and 4th in the league but someone coming here would think they're middle of the pack. But yeah, I love this idea because I've always looking for ways to shorten our window.

That's a pretty extreme take. Embiid HAS been operating in the post with amazing success this year and has been MORE efficient with Ben on the floor than when he's off. There are some logistical issues but like most things, they get overstated. Ben's going to have to develop a jumper regardless of Jo's presence

Embiid denied being fatigued as well, but we all saw it - we know he was. He needed some rest, which may have been to his chagrin, but he did, and now he just needs a big game.
It's whatever.

Maybe this Brett Brown offense isn’t the way to go moving forward. I mean, we currently have the pieces for more ISO, PnR type sets. I still don’t know why we have Embiid on the perimeter as much as we have. Especially if Joel doesn’t want to be out there.
I’m sure management isn’t thrilled with his public statement.

Re: Joel Embiid - The Prophecy is Realized
It is fair to point out that Embiid being too much behind 3pt line is not only because of Simmons, because in his rookie season he was also shooting many 3s, even more shots per36. So if he states he doesn't like it, then the only logical conclusion is that it is Brett offense who kind of "forces" Embiid to be behind 3pt line so much, regardless of Simmons being there.
Also the fact that he has regressed in his 3p% since his rookie season is not helping either.

You have to have a window to shorten it.
