Durant giving clues

Post#1 » by GeetIt » Thu Dec 6, 2018 5:13 pm

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/251827/Kevin-Durant-Would-Love-To-Own-NBA-Team-In-Seattle

This may be a clue on Durant doing business with Steve Ballmer. Ballmer was one of the investors on moving the Kings to Seattle with Chris Hansen. With that said, Durant to the Clippers. You have a Seattle billionaire there with massive ties to Seattle.

Another clue Durant gave us, "So I get why anyone wouldn't want to be in that environment because it's toxic." This quote was referencing playing on a Lebron led team.

Seems like a stretch.

Don't think Durant will ever have the chance to seriously be an NBA owner, much less in Seattle, and I don't think Ballmer would be able to help him with that at all. And I don't think whatever he said about Lebron can be read in terms of what he wants to do next summer either.

I still think he re-ups with the Warriors.

Yeah, I agree with Q-Rich3... Anyway, I lost my respect for this punk when he joined the Dubs.

Good.

He can take Dominique, I'll take Kevin Durant.

Not liking him won't cloud my judgment at all on that one.

Why does Durant want to move at all? I was very surprised when he left Oklahoma.

Durant is a much better outside shooter than Dominque. Dom was better driving to the hoop. Overall Durant is a better player but I understand the guys point. If Durant could not win with West and Harden maybe he should not be considered for the top 10.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point. :D

Dominique is waaaaaaaaay underrated, though, and that's part of this. He carried the Hawks on his back singlehandedly for 12 years, with five 50-win seasons and only 3 losing seasons--two of which were his first 2 years in the league. They made the playoffs 8 times.

They won 50 games his 3rd season behind his 30 ppg. The 2nd leading scorer was Randy Wittman with 13 and the next best was...wait for it...Doc Rivers with 12.

People used to call him a gunner but what I remember is the Hawks handing him the ball back with 4 seconds on the clock expecting him to do something with it.

[BTW, Dominique never made more than $3.5 million in a year. Oy.]
