If Cleveland can get a future 1st and 2nd round pick for George Hill, what can the Pacers get for DC or CJ?

isn't Hill's salary roughly what those two make together? this was a salary dump trade for the Bucks.

we've carefully structured our contracts to have cap room next year. Bucks just gave up picks to get closer to where we already are. no readon to screw it up.

Yes, that trade made no sense to me until I realised Delly had so many years left and GH is only $1M guaranteed next season. Not sure we'd want to add a long term contract for another draft pick at this stage.

turns out the pick is years away. they owe Suns a pick that must happen first.

Yeah we aren't getting any picks for DC unless we're taking on a bad contract. Delly is lowkey one of the worst in the league as he makes close to $10 mil and is not an NBA player at all.

Given our cap sheet next summer, I'd prefer the space to a pick years away. It's just not worth it to spend in excess of $15 mil of that cap (Cleveland also took on Henson) for a first several years away as nice as picks would be.

In theory, that also means it could happen almost immediately post Giannis if he were to walk on free agency. Could be a good pick then.
