I just don't ever get real worked up about what a rookie is defensively. They all suck.

Mostly agree, but it's not even that. There's a lot of lack of effort. Like just totally checked out, and they're a few times a game minimum. I had him in a tier behind Luka, JJJ, and I think Bamba and another guy maybe but kinda grouped together. And I still take JJJ over him.

Luka was my 1 and JJJ my 2, I didn't like Ayton coming into the draft but I think he's done plenty to deserve 3. SGA has been surprisingly good out of the gates, but wouldn't be talked about that high of the clippers weren't shockingly hot to start the season.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Agree there. I don't know about Bamba yet as he was a project. Phoenix is just so so bad and I hate seeing young guys not go all out. Even with a guy like Ferg when he sucks he still tries.

Keep an eye on the Smith trade. He’s the first big domino towards getting Beal.

Will do, buddy.

Cleveland is going to trade Hardaway for Smith, ultimately which is the key to the whole WAS-NYK-OKC three-team trade.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we get Ntikilina and Beal back.

Well if my wife and I find any cameras installed in the air vents you’ll be the first suspect.

I hope we get Beal even though I’m not sure it actually makes us better. It makes us interesting and gives us some serious firepower. I wouldn’t mind making a swing for the fences move right now because I’m concerned about Russ aging.

I just know that no matter how much you want it to happen or even find a path you believe makes sense, it doesn’t have one bearing on reality. If presti likes Adams more than you do, the deal is DOA.

Presti is not a fool. He realizes Beal + Mahinmi or something is better than Ferguson + Adams in terms of fit around Russ’ skill set, cap situation, everything.

He’s concerned about Russ’ aging too which is why we are going out to get Beal.

This is going to be a very active deadline. Probably one of the more active ones we’ve seen in a while as teams get ready for Durant’s departure and GSW doesn’t look invincible anymore.

A few predictions:

Chris Paul to LAL

Middleton to HOU

Hardaway Jr. to MKE

J.R. Smith to NYK

Adams to NYK

Abrines to NYK

Schroder to WAS

Wall to NYK

Beal to OKC

George Hill to HOU

Now I firmly believe he'll get it.

The whole premise of your trade is the Presti is smarter than everyone else. What if one of the other parts doesn’t value Adams like you think they should? I love Adams but his contract is still questionable even with his improved performance. What if Ernie likes the laker pieces better and magic makes a move? You speak like you have some kind of inside sources but the reality is you want this to happen so bad that you’re not being fair to other teams and gms.

Chris Paul and LeBron James are besties and better fits together on court. Magic will bring in Paul before he brings in Wall.

you're going in circles. we get it, you want the thunder to get beal for adams. but if you want trade ideas taken seriously, you cannot have 'presti is smarter than the other gm' as part of your premise. or an elaborate house of cards fantasy which leads to teams accepting less value so the thunder can get beal and not blow up the tax.

you didn't even know that acquiring a player with a TPE meant the thunder had to still pay them. nobody is taking this seriously anymore!

I admit that there is still a lot I’m learning about the CBA and valuations and all of that jazz, but the framework is clearly there for us to get Beal. Just watch what happens over the next month.

Most people on this board don’t consider a trade for Beal with Adams as the moving piece as being wildly far fetched. The twitter following from russ and George was interesting but nothing has happened. I know our front office is always tight lipped but there have been times where trade inquiries were leaked. It was leaked that we inquired about Porzingis when Phil Jackson was still there. Two years ago at the trade deadline we tried to get Wilson chandler. Before the deadline that day it leaked out that we had moved on from him.

We haven’t heard any leak about Beal, porter, butler or anyone else. Does that mean we aren’t interested or even trying? No. However since the team isn’t massively struggling and there is no new information to go off of, most of us just can’t discuss a new Bradley Beal trade every hour.

If you are looking at if we are struggling or not on the court, you are missing the point. This is all about positioning ourselves for a title run.
