Warriors should offer to let KD and Curry buy into the team after they retire, 5% or less.

That would be around $100 million at current valuations but might be around $200 million 5-10 years from now.

Of course once they retire, the team may not be competitive and may have problems packing Chase Center.

As rich as they are, no current NBA player, even Lebron, is in a position to take a majority stake in a franchise.

That's just nuts. If at ALL possible (and I'm sure it is) we keep as much of this group together as POSSIBLE.

Listening to another long interview with KD on the Bill Simmons podcast.

They don't really talk about the elephant in the room, which is his free agency situation. KD did say "I'll tell you first, I'll tell you when we cut the mikes."

He is opinionated and animated about various NBA topics.

He said recently that a three peat would make them Bay Area legends so maybe winning would impact his decision. If three peat is a big deal, think about the chance to four-peat.

What if KD gets injured, and spends the entire Finals on the bench watching the Warriors win anyway?

That's scenario where I could see him considering leaving...

though I can't stand the thought of that.. darn brain, shut down already.

The more he talks about these stuff, and the way he doesn't shut up about it, the more I feel he just craves attention and he wants to "keep you in suspense". He will just re-sign in July. Simple as that.

They're playing well right now (though maybe not as well as when they got out to a 10-1 start).

I see KD deferring a lot. Willing to pass out of the post to either Steph or Klay coming off the pick and even in half court situations, especially at end of quarter, he passes to Curry and lets him do more of the ISO possessions.

Is this a good sign for him staying? I think at one point he was averaging the highest number of assists in his career.

Or is it an admission that it will always be Steph's team and now that he's back and seems fully healed, he's the first option?

That might feed into the theories that he would want to go to another team where he'd be the unquestioned first option, the face of the franchise, etc. like the Knicks or even the Nets or the Clippers.

This starting lineup is fun to watch even with KD..I’d love to see him leave..I’d even watch all 90 exhibition games next season if Cousins stayed and KD was gone

KD is going to travel to OKC on 3/20 for the retirement of Nick Collison's number.

Warriors play 3/19 at Minnesota and then on 3/21 at home vs. Indy.

Damn, he's going to mess with the team schedule for what is admittedly a nice gesture.

Good thing OKC doesn't have cap space or you'd have to wonder about him going back.

As unique of a piece that KD is, I love having him here and he is blending even more now than ever, I don't see him becoming the #1 option on any team that is going deep in the playoffs. He is capable of carrying a team at times, because of his unique ability to get his shot off against most anyone at any place on the floor, but he loses the ball and gets his pocket picked way too much especially during face up iso's beyond the 3 pt line, where he's taken too much time setting it up and gotten out of rhythm. He'll need an elite partner (westbrook, Curry) to help carry the load. Why go start over somewhere, when you can just keep winning chips right here... the funnest team in the NBA...
You only got about 3-5 years of prime left.. Go on now... Make history.

KD should just stay a Warrior for life at this point. Why go to the Knicks or Clippers to try to chase rings and establish himself again when he can continue a dominant dynasty.

If KD wants to chase 30k points and scoring titles and get that James Harden offensive green light then he should go.

Honestly I would love if KD signs long term 3 or 4 year max deal. Assuming they win this year I would settle for a 1 year deal to go for 4 straight rings. Either way how can KD pass up a chance to do whats never been done in modern history? This group will only be around one more year max. I just dont see any better situation for KD elsewhere for next year. He gets 4 straight he can go wherever as far as I am concerned.

If AD joins LA I think it increases the chances of KD resigning here exponentially. It gives the Warriors an new hill to climb so to speak rather than the team that destroyed the league. The narrative will completely change and the media will be hyping it as a clash of titans. Can't wait.

Yes if AD joins LA, KD is pretty much a lock for us. We will also need to retain Green/Cousin to maintain competitive with the front court.

Not only KD will have more incentive to re-sign. If the Lakers get AD, their cap space left in 2019 summer will be less than $30m, which means they won't have enough to compete for Klay. Nice!

On the Celtics board, they think KD would want to join them because of Kyrie.

But they don’t have cap space so it would have to be a sign and trade.

Warriors would take back $35 million in salaries? Ainge would probably try to dump Hayward or Horford, who each make about $30 million next year.

Yeah, I’m sure the Warriors are going to pay big luxury taxes for either of those players.
