Funny how I started screaming about getting the ball to Beasley more two weeks ago.

After thinking about it for a day, I kinda like the trade.

I like the player but necessarily the price. I will say this though, WR was likely the #1 target in the next draft and based on all of the “draft gurus” Cooper is better than any WR in the draft. He’s also only 6 months older than Calvin Ridley and already has 2 pro bowls under his belt. The draft will be heavy in DE’s and CB’s which are not really Cowboy needs at this point. So if there ever was a year to trade a 1st this would be it for the Cowboys.

I had heard that once they let let Dez go, Jerry told Steven he was taking a WR in the next draft.

I think WR definitely was going to be the target in the 2019 draft. They clearly needed one. They WR corp has been crap this year. The WR class in the draft is expected to deep but no legit #1’s coming out. That’s why I’m ok with giving up the pick.

With their 2nd round pick I think they will be looking for a TE.

I'd like more defense, you know me. But damn, we do need a TE.

Their defense is pretty set. They could use an upgrade at safety and find a replacement for David Irving. It other than that they are solid across the board. On offense though they have a huge hole at TE and could use some help on the OL. They obviously need to start looking for a QB beyond Dak but I don’t think they do that until the 2020 draft.

Looks like the Cowboys won’t be facing Dez after all this year. Kind of feel bad for the guy. No doubt it was because of all the time he took off.

Dez had his share of missed games with us his last few years.

Dak clearly isn't a franchise QB. More of a bridge QB but don't have the future QB waiting to take over.

I’m really hoping they let him play out the last year of his contract next season before offering him a new deal.

I think sometimes we forget Dak is only in year #3. And there is a different amount of pressure on a young man being the QB of the Dallas Cowboys.

Not to mention that he hasn’t seen every type of defense several times yet. At this same point in Romo’s career he was still backing up Drew Bledsoe. If Dak is given the same amount of time he will be able to step to the line and diagnose a defense the way most veteran QB’s do.
