And nearly 9 assists a game, yes.

Why is he falling? I can't seem to get a consensus reason.

only thing i can think of is size and picking up his dribble too early

he is not a great athlete, he is small, and he doesn't play defense. he has 2 elite traits...his passing and his jumpshot...a lot of people question if his game translates to the NBA because he wont be able to just put half court shots all game...he will have to beat NBA defenders and shoot at a higher clip to justify lack of size and defense. he is very steve nashish if u ask me...

I've read he had some bad work outs, the only specifics of what made them bad though came from a secondary person who claimed he has put on weight and struggled to make his shots, he doesn't look bigger in videos of him getting to new york though so i dunno. Maybe size and some not the best work outs? He was a question mark anyway with his size, i could see him being solid but could also easily see him being a dj augustin

at what moment can we allegedly say he's a total bust
don't liked anything from what i saw in workouts and don't like even more what i'm seeing from him with the hawks
poor shot sleection, poor body language, atrocious defense, bullied by everyone and still he is posting every day on social media like he's the next steph.

Hawsk fans already call him bust so yea... we can too.
Guy has effective FG of 41% and net rating of -13, negative offensive and defensive win share.

Zach Lowe explained his defense as "floating paper"

you have to give him more than 1/4th of the season. 19 yr old kid, still learning the league and what will work and what wont. I would look to next year.

Are ya'll serious? Can we at lease give it 2 years? The hawks are a bad team so win share doesn't really matter right now. Hes a rookie, all I want to see is sparks of what he can become. And we've seen those

Has Bamaba played one game that got us excited? Is he a bust? Of course not.

lol

Did you actually ever watch him in nba so far?
Guy every game takes between 12 and 20 shots. By odds, from time to time, he wil have fat scoring game.
In mean time, everything in between is beyong horrendus . We talk about guy who missed 119 of 144 threes he took.

What is value of PG who can't shoot ? Elfrid Payton? Because there is almost no difference. Actually Payton at least always knew he can't shoot.

Lets ask Ben Simmons.

I have. Honestly his shooting has been disapointing. His passing and court vision are as good as avertised already. Ive been surprised that hes actually drove to the basket better then I thought. His shot selection is still bad at times. But again its so early in his career to call him a bust. Thats absurd. Hes shown flashes. Elfrid Payton? So are you projecting by his 3rd or 4th season he will be a Elfrid Payton level shooter? Cause Id love to bet on that.

Young 6'0, Simmons 6'10
Young 180 pounds , Simmons 240
Young 28-32 inch vert at most, Simmons 40+
Young's vertical reach is probably like 9 foot, Simmons 12,6 highest in nba

I get that if we talk about shooting only, Simmons blows, but Simmons is everything but tranditional PG. He could easly play off ball as PF and still get you 15-11-5 today. Young can only be ballhandler due size limitations and bad shooting to do anything else.

His margin of error in nba is almost zero.
IF he isn't elite shooter there is nothing for him to do.
It's almost given that his defense will be zero ,hell even Hawks beat writers last week took shots at Young, his shot selection and his inability to settle for better shots. He already took 94 pull up 3s. Missed 75 of them.

To be fair to Trae, no one expected him to contribute right away. His offense would be a work in progress right off the bat especially because of his size. Obviously his poor percentages comes from poor shot selection, and that improves through experience.

Y'all gotta chill and give Trae a break. We're not even half way through his 1st season.

Funny thing is, Trae's minutes and usage is exactly what we want Bamba to see. And if he did, he'd probably do even worse, but we don't give him as much heat. If Trae is already struggling playing against more players on the perimeter, what more Bamba who will have to play against full grown men.
