David Steele into Magic Hall of Fame

The Orlando Magic will induct longtime play-by-play announcer David Steele into their Hall of Fame on Friday, February 22 at 4 p.m. in Amway Center, near the Nutrilite Magic Fan Experience**. Steele becomes the eighth inductee into the Orlando Magic Hall of Fame.

For me, Steele is the voice of the Magic. Such an obvious YES.

Steele is in the midst of his 30th season of Orlando Magic basketball, and his 21st as the television play-by-play announcer, calling the action for FOX Sports Florida. During his tenure, he has called 2,296 games (regular season and playoffs) on both television and radio. Steele was named television play-by-play voice for the Magic in March 1998 after handling radio play-by-play duties for the team’s first nine seasons. Along with handling television play-by-play duties, he is also involved in ancillary television and radio programming for the team.

well deserved. he is the best announcer I've seen for any team in any sport. well spoken, observant and humorous in right ways on occasion.

I Have a deep passion with spanish espn casters alvaro Martín and coach carlos morales. But right behind em comes steele, ofc Im biased by the magic and listening to him since i had the opportunity to watch magic games on fox (2006-07) on regular basis (thx to direct tv and their nba pass on argentina). I think steele's voice tune clicks perfectly and im amases how didnt change trough time. Imo he deserves the magic hof.
PD: i do like turner but the steele goukas duo was way better imo.

Btw the espn casters Im talking about were shown on inside the nba the day after we played the jazz and asked Charles what they said in spanish. Ofc it was hillarious

Sucks we could not get this win for him tonight but much deserved honors to a great broadcaster. I did not get a chance to enjoy his younger days as it was hard for me to watch Magic games in Texas back in the day. So glad I get to hear him now.

As Mr Steele gets older he becomes even more sort of innocent and charming. He's a joy to listen to, we're lucky to have him. Congrats David!
