I'm pretty much done with Cousins this year. He throws to whoever the play is called for. There is no progression reading. If they choosing to throw deep, he's throwing it whether there is double or triple coverage. He did it three times already this game. This one is double coverage on Robinson and its a touchback pick. Why can't they play for the first down, or even 15 yards? Why does it have to be the long bombs or nothing?

Are you flashing back to the 30-7 loss to the Patriots with Matt Cassel throwing 4 picks and 7 targets to Matt Asiata? Because this is the same garbage offense as back then with the same garbage head coach. September of Zimmer's first season here. Doesn't matter who the offensive coaches or coordinators are. Same stupid offense.

Alexander giving up a ten yard cushion when the Patriots are running the clock out. omg. All season the cushions these corners give up to WRs is just sad for a Zimmer D. But he's so used to it he's doing it now still.

Yep. Vikings ruined another QB. Cousins is junk now.

Good news Zimmer. You can go and cry about turnovers all week again. Wonder who he calls out in press conference by name now.

8 passes to Thielen in the 4th quarter. I'm glad most of them didn't work out for once. Sick and tired of this team not using him as anything but a blocker until the game has already got away from them. I wouldn't be surprised if defenses of teams preparing to play the Vikings have offensive players names listed as features per quarter to focus on. Because that's what this offense does this year. I'm sure Bellichick noticed.

the offensive approach isn't working. i mean cook was really making some hey on outside runs and we just abandon the run. friend at work said that those things worked so well because we don't do it every time and yes there is some truth to that but quitting it while it is still working doesn't seem right, at least keep at it until they are going to stop it

That's exactly right. Especially when you are struggling to move the ball. If you find something that really works, keep at it until they stop you. That doesn't mean run outside 6 plays in a row. If the outside runs are working, thats your run plays. You keep it fresh by passing at a healthy mix with the outside runs. And you know what else those outside runs probably hinted at? That they could roll Cousins out more often and find some time. The Patriots outside edges were weak. Vikings rolled out maybe once or twice and worked!. Then they quit rolling him out and sat him in the nonexistant pocket again where by now he's become Mr Hold it Christian Ponder afraid of picks and afraid of hits. Meanwhile, they stopped running outside and started throwing everything to Cook at the line, expecting him and everyone to gain all their yards on their own the whole game. It negates the whole point of passing.

Thank goodness. Timberwolves are saving my winter sports enjoyment. The Vikings might as well call it a season. No chance these coaches understand what they are doing wrong. Not a single chance.

So is DeFillippo gone yet? outside runs were ruling...let's stop that immediately. Rollout and bootleg Cousins working, let's stop that immediately. Because we simply have to pass those 2 yard passes out of a 3 step and wait pocket or someone might forget they are the Defillippo Vikings.

I can't believe I heard someone in the media ask Zimmer in his presser whether he would have liked to have seen Cook getting more use as a receiver since he only had 22 yards on ten targets through the air. Who are these people and where did all the football people go? Zimmer's answer? He says "well those were all checkdowns. We have other pass plays for him but we just didn't get to them."

More pass plays to him? Maybe ten was overkill already. Ever think of that? 10 targets and he brings home a 2.2 yard average return on those. Meanwhile, his outside rushing plays were explosively productive, but they only used those a couple times and he only got 9 carries all game.

I sure hope that media person was trying to give the coach a chance to say they passed to Cook too much and that he wasn't just as clueless about NFL offense as Zimmer and Defillippo have been. I'm not sure anyone would mistake Cook for Marshal Faulk, and last I checked we have plenty of receiver talent to get the ball to.

Meanwhile, Tom Brady was throwing deeper down the sidelines to Cordarelle Patterson than Vikings were sending receivers most plays. Except for the typical hail mary like tosses they take when they just need 6 yards for a first down.

Bears defense is unreal. Out of nowhere unreal this year. Big leap for them.

Bears vs Rams game is 8 to 6 in score right now in the 3rd q. Hopefully Rams can pick up steam soon and keep the Bears from increasing their division lead. Then again I am happy for Bears to smoke the Rams and put them in their place too.

well got some good results yesterday for our playoff chances (outside the bears). makes tonight no longer a must win, having that tie is really helping out - plus a lot of teams in the middle in the nfc

Yeah that's great they can keep losing a few more and not feel like a rotten team just yet. They need to figure something out tonight or the big apathy sets in and the season is over. What am I talking about, it's already over. Good luck you dingles.

Cousins had is head bounced pretty hard on that turf on the first drive 3rd and long play where the drive stalled out. Either that's going to wake him up and he's going to have a good game, or he's going to be shaken the rest of this half.
