Butler has been the least of our problems, Embiid and Simmons are the guys who get exposed against certain teams like Celtics and Raptors, while Butler maintains his level. Also he hasn't been a ballhog by any means. Now, if Sixers start losing lots of games, then yeah, maybe issues with Butler show up, but right now he has been very good.

And he will be good as long as you let him take 20+ shots per game. He is gunning for a contract you see, and WILL get his stats at ALL costs. So enjoy, because he's was a team player here (Wolves) too at first, then the sh*t started. But as I say, enjoy him now, because if you don't pay him max money, it's a one year rental. Oh and wait until he trashes one of your stars in the media.

Except he has only taken 20 shots in 3 out of 12 games he played. The last 2 games he has taken 20 shots are out of necessity.

That's the rub, he pretends to try to get his team mates involved, then if they miss shots he decides to take all of them himself.
Kind of like a boyfriend when you first start dating, nice and sweet, then you move in together and see a of his dirty little drawers.
Time.....just wait. Contract year. He's not going to get paid off of assists.

Indeed

This is much to do about nothing, look for Embiid to come out and score about 30 tomorrow with 15 rebounds

IF he does. If he doesn't? Another struggle game?

Pompey is going to have more scoop. I'm so happy the pressure's finally on Brett Brown.

If this team is the 4th seed, is that a good result for this team?

Pompey is a hack. He took what Embiid said and blew it way out of proportion.

Jo is not unhappy at all. He wav frustrated on his last two performances and was pissed about getting the night off b/c his Dad was in Detroit.

There is nothing more to this.

There is a HUGE difference though. He played with soft Towns and Wiggins (who is also not good and overpayed) in Minny, now he playes with one player who is better than him (and Butler says so also) and both our young stars are anything but soft. So comparing this situations is just silly.

Don't tell me when to come here, and don't act like you know me. I have been watching the Bulls and Jimmy before he was traded to us. Tough guy.

Butler also said Wiggins was the best player on the team too. He held Towns back if anything. Looks like it starting with Embiid too. He's a master manipulator. And Philly fans are drinking his koolaid.
Cant wait until his contract signing.

We get it, you're better you lost Butler because he had no respect for Wiggins and Towns.

Mik317 wrote:Ben is very much the reason Embiid camps at the 3pt line. To not see that is the most stannery **** ever. Ben's lack of outside game requires everyone to adjust their games, that is just facts. Embiid posts up and then Ben's man can cheat off of him...meaning Ben generally has to either cut (which allows the guy to still cheat because Embiid is a **** passer at times) or make sure he isn't near which hurts because your PG should be the one initiating said play. We can't run PNR because again his man can simply play off him...and thats the case even when Ben isn't the ballhandler. His lack of jumper hinders a lot of what we can do in the half court.

Its been that way forever because literally none of our PGs in the process era couldn't shoot and the few who could couldn't dribble lol. The reason why Ish worked as well as he did, wonky jumper and all, was his speed and Noel's leaping ability.

Now that is not to say Embiid doesn't have his issues in this conundrum either. He simply takes too long to make his move at times, which allows people to cheat off , him abandoning his face up jumper also plays a role in this. He also often brings the ball down too low for someone who is 7'2. His lower body strength is piss poor which means he very rarely gets great position on said post ups. Plus his foul baiting doesn't always work which leads to bad possessions.

And then there is Brett. I think many people give him too hard of a time but his devotion to his system kills me. He is running a spursian system w/ the wrong personale and the older version of said system at that. There has to be a better way to get your 7'2 behemoth easy looks. Joel works too hard for his shots and that is why he is already burnt out atm. Our offense is often too predictable. I am an idiot and even I can tell who is going to shoot on certain possessions...so I know the defense is aware.

and yet with all that, it all comes down to our main initiator being basically useless from 13 ft out. He's not even taking those wonky fadeaways any more. If Ben was even a slight threat from 20 ft, it would make life a lot easier. His man wouldn't be able to cheat. So that would allow Embiid's slow post up process a few extra seconds. His **** passing would matter less. Brett's hatred of PNR would have less excuses. Our offense would have an extra release valve. And Embiid wouldn't have to force as often. All he needs to do is follow the damn train, CJ.

and this doesn't mean trade Ben or that he sucks and should go back to Austrailia. It doesn't mean Embiid doesn't need to work on things too...he does. But I am sorry but I am tired of everyone having to change for Ben's sake when he so far hasn't done **** for anyone else's sake...

Agreed - It's not about getting Embiid more touches or better post position. Brett needs to get Embiid some easy looks like Jordan/Capella/Gobert all get --- easy dunks, lobs, etc. The issue is that most of that comes from PnR action which the Sixers don't do.

Some Butler/Embiid PnRs would be a sight for sore eyes...

Beat it troll , you worry about your team making the playoffs which is probably unlikely.

Okay, but I have seen far worse in this forum. But I guess some posters are a little softer than others.
And I just think it's funny he KNOWS what teams I watch. Bulls fan since the 90's. (But I have only seen one year of Butler.)

When Ben picks up his dribble, his defender backs up to clog the paint. Biid loves splashing the 3 ball, but probably not digging the added pressure to be responsible for opening the court. Ben needs to develop a confident little popper, and Biid needs to see all kinds of PnR to loosen the double-triple team.

Looked slow today, like he couldn’t jump at all. Maybe that explains why he didn’t demand the ball in the post more. This was the moment. After whinnying in the media, with Butler out and against his biggest rival (?) in the NBA.

But no. He looked pretty happy shooting threes at times.

Just play Joel. Don’t think of shots, threes, mvps, anything. Set good screens, block, rebound, shoot when open, demand post position, feed off the double team. Just play.

I wouldn’t put it on Simmons, more on Brett for the offense scheme.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
