You can hold down the plus sign to skip the credit sequence if you want.
Yeah I do sometimes, but sometimes I shoot all the names and whatnot because you can get like 1.5 million points. I just don't know exactly what the points are for.

I think the points are just a measure of how successful you were in that classic session; I don't think there's any other value to them. However, the more points you earn from shooting the credits, the more rewards you can get (you can get up to five additional rewards on the credits screen). Those rewards can be skins; gold; snacks; spirits; etc.

I don't really understand what the spirits do other than some extra match conditions. And the points earned from classic mode? Are they just for extra spirit snacks or whatever? The bonus stage and credits are getting a little old, so it would be great if I didn't need to worry about that.

You can unlock characters in the World of Light adventure mode as well. I'm at 43 characters because of it. (Play a bit to unlock a character, back out to get a Challenger Approaching because you've played 10min, go back in and repeat)

I would actually encourage you to do some research before diving in, and also to follow a build guide your first time through. You'll otherwise be so overwhelmed you may give up.

Here's a great YT video series for an intro:

When I looked up PoE to see if it was free to play I came upon this page.

Anyone here play Warframe, Darwin Project, Paladins, or Planetside 2?

I think the only other free to play game I have dabbled in was Team Fortress 2.

After getting 100+ mbs downloading PoE, I got about 9 mbs downloading Warframe. Now my Bucks feed is lousy. Calling to bitch at Charter.

But anyway, Warframe looks right up my alley. The community sounds really great.

Man, when I played Team Fortress 2 it wasn’t even free to play. What an awesome game...probably why I love Overwatch too

So after that abomination Bucks game last night I picked up Warframe. Despite telling myself I needed sleep last night, I played from 9-1:45 in the morning. I can honestly say I believe this game will own any and all gaming time I have for a very long time.

Maybe I've missed it, but are there any serious players around here? It's available free on any platform you want, including Switch. I'm very tempted to download it again there and make it my primary way to play. Moving in February and I'm gonna guess my ability to game is gonna go way down.

If you want a primer on it, this Kotaku thing from January is a great little resource for tips and links to beginner guides.

Legit never even heard of it. I started downloading it to give it a go, but don't have much time to dedicate. Even if it sucked me in, I'd hate that meaning that I abandon AC Odyssey, as I am obsessed with that story and want to see it through. I know once I leave a game I tend to never go back, with few exceptions.

Warframe is cool but I wish it weren't (mostly) so easy. I tend to get bored with games like that where most of the combat is killing giant waves of enemies. The controls and gameplay are nice, though.

I played Warframe for a short while after it came out, and it just didn't keep me interested.

I'm pretty much obsessed with Smash right now. I've generally found the game itself quite enjoyable. I'm not as discontented with the character-unlocking process as some people have been. I've unlocked about 35 characters so far, and have probably 10 or so that I failed to unlock the first time that I'll encounter through the challenger's approach rematch function. The one thing I recommend is playing through a classic mode with each character your unlock. Not only it is a great way to learn a character's playstyle, but getting through a classic gauntlet with a new character will lead to a new challenger approaching. It's a win-win, as far as I'm concerned.

That being said, I've noticed a few things that annoy me:

1. Their online matchmaking system is really quite terrible. I saw a couple RealGMers online the other day playing Smash, and I wanted to invite them to play, until I realized that there isn't an easy, built-in way to invite people to join you in an online match. You have to create a battle arena and communicate that info offline, which is stupid as hell.

If you're just looking to play some randos in a quickplay, the "preferred rules" toggle seems pretty useless. I don't think I've ever got put in a match based on my preferred rules. Even if I choose a solo match, I often get tossed into co-op matches without realizing it right away.

For many games, limitations and bugs like this would be annoying, but it is especially disappointing for a game like Smash which really needs to have some robust online features to get the most out of it.

2. I'm still pretty confused about the spirits and how and when to equip them. Really, I need to dedicate an hour to reading/watching some explainers on it. However, I don't think I should have to do that - for a feature that is central to a lot of the game, they should do a better job explaining it all.

3. Bullet Bill is a prick and I hate him.

I’ve got the GameCube controller adapter arriving next Wednesday, so hopefully that helps me a bit. I traded in the adapter I had when I sold my Wii U.

I’ve been watching some high level Smash tournament play and I’m trying to pick up a few things. I think I underestimated how nuanced the fighting can be with all the different tips and tricks. It’s just going to take a lot of practice and repetition.

Is Smash Bros worth it as a primarily single player experience (with maybe the occasional local multiplayer)?

That's good to hear. I'm interested in picking it up, but in general I don't play online much, apart from the occasional Overwatch match.

Are you guys able to not get frustrated after losing matches in Smash, whether CPU or online? I get heated when I lose, I need to work on that. Not so much for local multiplayer, that's just fun n games.

Ok, we finally just got SSBU. I saw we because SO, who otherwise has zero interest in games, is obsessed with SSB. So I will be fighting for console time.

I THINK I kinda get spirits, but I'm not positive. Does the skill tree stuff carry into other modes? Or even across characters? Like if I change from one character to another in adventure, does the skill tree stay the same? I haven't experimented yet. The spirits themselves and the sub-spirits makes enough sense to me at face value, though I don't know what the orange and blue "stats" are for each one.

It depends on the way I lose. It's annoying to me when I've got an opponent at like 150% on the Smash meter and can't get the KO, or when a stage effect or item **** me. I was about to finish an online opponent last night when the controls suddenly flipped and I walked my ass off the stage. I almost broke my pro controller.

Uttered tonight playing SSBU: "Jigglypuff can **** a broken bottle and die".

Definitely no anger upon losing. Nope.
