I suggested something like this with Ross + Pick/Players(DJ or Simmons?) for Lonzo Ball in the trade idea thread. Keep our flexibility for the summer and go after another PG who can also play off the ball, ideally Kemba or one of the other PG's out there. Re-sign Vuc + other depth + our likely lottery pick.

As much as I love Ross, he likely has the most trade value on our team with his off the charts shooting, ability to play the 2 or the 3 and is a plus defender. For the Lakers it would be ideal playing off Lebron (and Rondo) for their playoff run. They maintain flexibility in the summer but also retain his bird right's.

Regardless of the above, what are some potential trade scenarios with Ross?

TRoss is an interesting trade because for me I'd rather keep him and resign him to a contract close to what he has now. For a team with such poor shooting and guys who can come off bench and score why let him go? I'm not interested in taking on salary and future pick ( FO doesn't value 2nd round picks or even late 1sts) for TRoss. TRoss could be our Iguodala in a playoff run where he's 3 and D guy killing 2nd teams and hitting clutch shots late.

Not touching Lonzo he's a hyped guard who cant shoot. Lonzo is lucky Lebron came to town because the pressure is off him to become a star/show he's worth lottery pick.

Unless the team is able to get real value we may very well keep him as we need talent, especially shooting.

On Lonzo, I agree he was over hyped but I'm still a buyer. He is a big guard who has a very high motor and he's already a good defender. As the season went on last year you could really see how good he was. With Lebron being so dominant as essentially your PG, he's going to struggle until he learns how to play with him and is able to shoot the ball better. We are seeing that now in his production vs last year and he's coming off an injury. In time he'll be good for the Lakers but with Lebron you only have so many years and I think that adds more pressure on him than anything. To me his maturity lines up with Bamba/Isaac.

First 2-3 years

Kemba, Evan, Isaac, Gordon, Vuc
Lonzo, FA Combo/Draft Pick, Bamba

Year 2/3

Lonzo, Kemba, Isaac, Gordon, Bamba.
Evan Vuc

And quite frankly, Lonzo would be a lot of fun to watch.

I actually agree with Fournier on this. Guys post stuff to Twitter all the time like that, comparing one legend versus another. Not like he called TMac trash. KD might be the best scorer of all time individually, no shame in that.

But since it's Fournier, I just want to take TMac's side.

Some guys take offense when much inferior players chime in like that. Especially when they play (terribly) for the team you played for.

As for the one on one thing... it's pretty stupid. T-Mac would win some games and Durant would win some games. Durant does 2 things better than T-Mac offensively. Shoot and be tall. T-Mac does everything else better.

Do you really think that we will be able to get Kemba? I'd love to, but I'm note sure, he seems to really like where he is.

BTW, I'm not questioning you, this question is valid to anyone who wants to express something around it.

It's certainly a long shot but Charlotte is going nowhere with that team, he loved playing for our new coach and we need a PG. However, I would still go after another PG who can also play off the ball and isn't a defensive liability. Kemba is the dream but there are certainly other options hitting FA/RFA.

I just quoted you in the other thread and just saw this now. Creepy. But I don't think we need to wait 2-3 years before we transition to that second rotation. Fast forward it please. :D

Kenny said Vuc is a legit all star nba game time live. I know his success pisses some people off but I think its good to get some national attention.

Yeah, i’d do a trade involving lonzo for ross. Depends on the other parts. But it makes some sense for us. Ross is playing really well for us, but we might lose him at the end of the year. Might as well sell high. Lonzo gets all the hate for his dad’s loud mouth, but he is actually a pretty good player himself. He would do wonders for this Magic team that lacks shot creators.

I've been a fan of this (and I guess I still am) but even if we buy low...he's due $9m. Could be a steal or could be a massive bust with financial implications. He's not free is my point.

The Magic is the same distance from he 5-seed as fallen out of the playoffs. The 1 1/2 games in either direct make the #5-9 race super interesting.
