I was listening to the Game Theory podcast with Sam Vecenie earlier and iirc they called Russ' season something along the lines of "great". And Maddie Lee said he was getting to the rim just fine in the last Thunder Buddies.

Are we watching different games?

They might have watched those first games before the ankle injury.
He was doing all things russ does well. He has looked out of sorts and far less aggressive since.
His shooting will always suck. Its his driving thats changed alot since hes been back. I have to say though his decision making has been better good

everyone looks great if you only focus on what looks great.

westbrook is shooting 22% from three while taking over 1/4 of his attempts from there. he's shooting 60% from the line. his turnover% is the highest it has been since his rookie season. orb% the lowest it has been in his career.

no, there is something going on with him regardless of how frequently he is getting ot the rim and finishing. even subjectively he's appeared hesitant to shoot and mentally in shambles at times.

stats.nba.com now offers more comprehensive information on the type of touches certain players get. Among the volume post up players, Adams is 7th in FG%. He's shooting better in those situations than Embiid, Vucevic, Aldridge, Jokic, Randle, Gasol, Davis...

he's usually exhausted by the 4th quarter carrying the team defensively tbh.

Apparently Shelburne said they're interested in KCP.

Miami? lol. Give up.

paul george openly admitting he went to donovan last year and requested they not run plays for him. any reasonable person would have long realized that the thunder stars are difficult to coach because they do what they want, but we keep getting more fuel for that fire. what gaps will the anti-donovan brigade retreat into now? westbrook and george run this team, and it's what they want. donovan's defensive chops are made even more impressive by this.

Somebody needs to usurp Pat Riley. He will not rest until he has 15 mediocre role players with double digit salaries on that roster.

schroder for kcp makes so much sense for the thunder if phoenix was interested in him but i think they've backed themselves into a corner with all this westbrook has ball handling help now to do a deal like this.

I also think that having that 3rd guy actually does matter. The main issue isn't Schröder per se, but the fact that they lack additional shooting off the bench imo.

Realistically, between the injuries and the stress of new babies, he's probably just in a tough place physically atm. It should regress to his mean as time goes on.

Saw this on the Lakers board

KCP is holding up the deal according to Ramona on 710 as he only has a few approved places he will agree to go to to with his NTC or waving away his rights

I wonder if they had to do another "recruitment session" like they did with Noel. if this really is about getting minutes, we mght be one of those destinations since we have a bunch of wings, but none of them are actually all that good.

Yeah maybe. We forget these guys still have a normal life outside of us watching them every two or three days for 2.5 hours. I know how I'm slacking off at work from time to time when it's just one of those days...in the end this is still a job for them.

Still do Schroder for KCP. Find a free agent PG.

Shhhh... you’ll upset the narrative that Donovan is a bad coach.

There is, in my mind, little to zero evidence that Donovan is a bad coach at this point and a lot of evidence that he is a good coach. The best evidence? George stayed and Presti kept Donovan around to coach OKC’s highest payroll team ever. Oh and defense.

Oh and I’m really worried about what a KCP trade means for OKC. I can’t see Presti trading Schroder for KCP and furthermore, how can they retain him?

I'm not seeing this. KCP is average and Schroder has been very good.

I actually don’t mind KCP next to Russ and George but if Phoenix is seriously interested in Schroder, I just wonder what else they are sending back. Because we aren’t going back to Felton.

And again, how are we retaining KCP, though?

EDIT: KCP + Lonzo for Schroder + Abrines + Ferguson?

Ferguson 31.5 3p% > Abrines 31.4 3p%

Yeah. Abrines is expendable. I think his game would fit in better on other teams. Namely teams that value offense more than defense.

That doesn't make much sense. It's not like he's glued to the bench because of his defense even though he's making 3s. He's getting minutes, but he's bricking everey shot save for one outburst every two or three weeks.
