Who Will Be Better: Diallo or Furgeson?
In 1-3 years, which of these two do you think will be the better player?
Although Furg has made a big jump this year, his skinny frame is a problem. Diallo is looking much better his rookie season than Furg did in his, and has a better NBA body with the same athleticism. He needs to develop a semi serviceable shot, but I think Diallo will prove to be the better player as soon as next season.

Diallo but i think they will both be good And everyone saying Diallo shot needs to be serviceable have you seen him shot his shot does not look broken to me most his 3s go in and out i think he just need more shots and it will start falling.SecondTake wrote:In 1-3 years, which of these two do you think will be the better player?

Ferguson is the teams 5th best player at the shooting guard position behind Diallo, Abrines, Burton and TLC. He has consistently shown over a large sample size of games that he has no ability whatsoever to get involved offensively and he can't shoot, handle the ball, create his own offense or create offense for anybody else (averages less than an assist per game). He's a pretty good defender but certainly not anything special. I have no idea what it is they're seeing in this kid just like I have no idea what they saw in Roberson who is now done in the NBA with that injury. Diallo should have been starting from day 1 this season and he's clearly going to be a much better overall player.

Yeah, looking at their numbers again I think there's a case to make that Diallo is already a better player than Furgeson is now. Furg is a better defender, but he was trash last year and I think Diallo will be as good or better defensively by the end of the season. He's taller than Diallo, but Diallo actually has a longer wingspan.

Ferguson is a hard working guy and improved a lot of defense but I voted Diallo because I'm seeing something special in him. He has that confidence that can make him a great player.

Very hard to predict. Ferg better defensively. Better looking jumper. Diallo more explosive athlete with better ball skills. Could see it going either way.

Realistically one or both of them should be moved if we are truly in win-now mode because they are our only real trade pieces. If the return for either or both of them were enough to make OKC true contenders I would be all for it. Factoring in Golden States dominance and what appears to be a very uncertain future for Russ’s game and pending cap issues, I prefer to hold on to them and see what happens.

Well Abrines and patterson are trade pieces too. Largely worthless, but anything back is better than they are. Package those two with either Furg or Diallo and maybe you'll get something decent back. Anyone making 38% from 3 and 80% from FT would be worth more than the current bench we have put together.

Tell me again how Enes Kanter is an All Star.

Your best case scenario is that one is Danny Green and the other Tony Allen, not exactly inspiring when those are the best prospects you've got to offer.

Never said Kanter was an all star I just always maintained that he should have been starting for OKC and playing around 35 minutes per game. Not sure how Kanter is even relevant to this post.

Re: Who Will Be Better: Diallo or Furgeson?
At this moment I'd have to lean Diallo. He has a better NBA body and has displayed a more well-rounded basketball skill set.
I know part of it is game plan but it's disappointing to see that Ferguson has pretty much relegated himself to be a floor spacing spot up shooter. I'd like to see him put the ball on the floor more. This is the area where Diallo completely outclasses him.

They are similar in that they are both athletic, raw prospects. Ferguson plays like someone who is just now learning not to second guess everything he does. Diallo seems much more comfortable playing to his strengths whereas I’m not sure anyone including Ferguson know what his strengths are yet. I would like to see Diallo make a commitment to the defensive end and his three point shot. He’s not a lazy defender he’s just inexperienced. Ferguson needs a little more size and needs some offensive moves. I expect him to continue he to get better defensively.

Ferg is getting to the point where I'm not sure it's possible to screen him if he knows it's coming.

Re: Who Will Be Better: Diallo or Furgeson?
Ferguson has become a very good defender. His shot and ball handling hasn't developed like I thought it would. He is only 20 and has flashed enough that I still believe he has a very high ceiling and will become a very player. Diallo is a freak athlete, but it isn't translating yet. Diallo is also only 20 so he still has lots of room to grow. Diallo has never shown the ability to shoot and I don't think he'll become the shooter I expect Ferguson to become. Diallo could continue to improve his ball handling and attacking and be more of a secondary ball handler type with strong defense and good ability to get to the rim and finish.

Diallo is already better, and will be a better player in the future as well.
I would even play Burton over Ferguson. He's just a more skilled player and better offensive threat as well.

Ferguson is shooting 31% from the 3 and 38% from the floor 66% free throws.Kizz Fastfists wrote:Ferguson has become a very good defender. Diallo is shooting 25% from 3 and 51% from the floor a 67% free throws.Ferguson has had 58 3pa to Diallos 16 3pa.If Diallo had 58 I belive his 3 point percentage would be at least 31% Ferguson has him beat on the defensive end but that's really it.I do believe they will both be good player in the future.

I believe if Ferguson had 200 the point attempts he's be shooting 45%
